For the first time, the drive from the Tower to the school was too long. Peter normally would complain about how fast the drive was and how Happy was basically rushing Peter down death row. But now, Peter was checking out the window of the car for the school and desperately wishing he could get to the school where his therapist was. AKA, Ned.

So Peter texted Ned the following text:

Code Level: Death Star.

Meeting Place: Forbidden Forest

Ned knew Peter better than Peter knew himself. So Peter could always rely on Ned to tell Peter the truth he needs to hear but not want to hear. And right now, Peter needed to get advice from Ned.

And

RIGHT

NOW

Happy pulled up to the drop off zone at Midtown High school. "Out." Happy said bluntly.

"Thank you for the ride! Bye Happy!" Peter said grabbing his bag and rushing out of the car. Ned had texted Peter an affirmative so Peter went straight to the meeting place they code-named the Forbidden Forest. The bench by the garden at the front of the school. Once Peter rounded the corner, he saw Ned sitting on the bench flipping through a book. Peter ran up to Ned dodging a few students and throwing himself onto the bench.

"Dude, what's the emergency?" Ned asked, at this point getting used to Peter's dramatics. "Is this about you and Tony Stark?" Ned whispered.

"No, it's something MUCH bigger. Oh God Ned, I'm screwed." Peter moaned covering his face with his hands and hunching over.

"Gonna need more information, Pete."

"I meet the Avengers yesterday. Well, meet probably isn't the-"

"WHAT THE FUCK?" Ned screamed.

"Ned, shut up. Do you want New Jersey to hear you?" Peter hissed glancing around to make sure no one was listening.

"What do you mean you met the avengers? Dude, are you being serious? Like dead-ass? Swear on the bibble?" Ned rambled.

"Ned, you're an atheist."

"Not the point. Focus. You met the Avengers!! Duuuude."

"Yeah, I know, it was-, weird." Peter shrugged.

"Well, yeah. I wouldn't say that meeting the avengers was a normal occurrence. Wait, are they here for the accords?"

"Yeah. I guess they're living in the tower now."

"That's soooo cool!! So are you now going to be like hanging out with the avengers??"

"I don't know. I don't think so. It was........weird and uncomfortable.." Peter shrugged thinking back to the previous day.

"What does that mean?"

"Ok, so, you know-how the accords started the whole 'civil war' between the avengers?"

"Yeah, duh."

"Well, although the team is back together, I don't think Mr Stark is very happy about it."

"Did he tell you that?"

"Well, no. But, he definitely didn't want me around the team. I only really got to talk to Hawkeye for about five minutes alone before Mr Stark made him leave the room. And he didn't want to talk about them." Peter explained.

"I don't know what to tell you, man. Other than that your life just got a whole lot more complicated and awesome."

"Yeah." Peter sighed.

"What's wrong? There's something you haven't told me."

Ned was right, Peter knew that. Ned was always right.

"I, just. I'm having doubts." Peter admitted.

"Doubting what Peter?"

"Do you think Mr Stark is embarrassed by me?" Peter asked. The question had been nagging at him for ages.

"NO. Why would you think that?"

"Why else would he not want me to talk to the avengers. He knows I'll do something stupid. And then that'll embarrass him. Then the team will just think I'm a stupid kid."

"Peter. You know what you're saying is crazy."

"I don't know Ned. Let's just get to class." Peter said, in a tone that indicated that he couldn't talk more about this at the moment. So Ned just nodded at the two went into the school and to AP Chemistry.
