"WHERE are you taking me?" (y/n) laughed in between her words, glancing at me from the passenger side of my car.
"I can't say anything!" I couldn't help the large grin on my face. I kept my eyes on the road ahead, trying not to look at her. If I did, I would slip into those eyes on the spot. Then, I would spoil everything. So, I couldn't do that.
She crossed her arms in her seat. She was wearing a long sleeve turtle neck with some flower earrings. I wonder why she likes flowers so much? I'd have to figure that out later.
"Seriously! I can't take it," she put a hand on my shoulder, rocking it. I tried not to blush and took a peek at her goofy smile. She's going to be so excited.
I shrugged. "Just a little bit longer, Nishimara! I promise."
The car took a turn and I watched her stare out the passenger window. I tried not to watch her shoulders perk up, her hand hitting the window several times. She had caught on.
"You're taking me to see my students?!" Nishimara said in shock and surprise. She put her hands up to her mouth, squealing a little bit.
"I knew you'd figure it out."
The school came into view and before I could park, she had already stumbled out of my vehicle. I tried to get out quickly to catch up with her.
"Nishimara, wait! You haven't been cleared to run yet!"
I watched as a woman appeared from the front door. Nishimara met the woman halfway, then grappling into a hug. That must be her friend I've spoken to, Arima Izumi. Arima was an older woman with greying hair and was wearing a red dress, her glasses had gone askew on her face.
I waited, watching them speak with each other. Arima wiped her eyes, taking Nishimara into a hug again. (y/n) then looked at me, beaming. She waved for me to come over.
"Arima, this is my friend, Deku," Nishimara motioned to me. Arima giggled, putting her hands together.
"Oh, I know. He planned all of this!" Arima said as I gave a small bow.
"I knew how much the kids meant to you and Arima said they missed you so, I decided—"
I felt her arms around my neck. It was sudden and caught me by surprise. It was the first time she had initiated such contact. Arima caught my eye and gave me a look. You know, the look. I slowly put my arms around her body to return the favor, trying to ignore the heat spreading from my cheeks all the way to the tips of my fingers.
"Thank you, Deku."
Before I had a chance to savor the interaction, she let go and marched inside. I could tell she already knew where she was going. I felt flustered, not really knowing what to do with myself. Pulling me from my trance, Arima began guiding me inside.
"I like you," Arima whispered and I laughed nervously.
I caught sight of (y/n) again and she was standing outside the door of a classroom. Her fingers were wrapped around the metal handle and I watched the emotion begin to show on her face. She collected herself and then opened the door.
