Are you sure you wrote this?

Seokwoo leaned against the kitchen counter. His eyebrows were knitted into a frown. Chani and Hwiyoung stood in front of him, making up theories about the reason for his anger. "Plagiarism?" Hwiyoung suggested, and Chani shook his head as a no "Nah, the last time it happened, he threw the poor pot at the wall." He explained pointing at the deformed pot on the counter. "Date gone wrong?" Chani implied raising his eyebrows, "who would date him?" Hwiyoung said, laughing under his breath.

Dawon walked in, clearing his throat loudly, "He's like this because I woke him up with screaming in his ear." He smiled mischievously as Seokwoo shot a death glare at him. The younger ones started laughing loudly, making Seokwoo even madder. Without a word, he took the lunch boxes out of the fridge and dropped them in the trash, making the younger ones scream "no" in unison.

Dawon laughed holding his cup of coffee close to his mouth "harsh" he said following the taller man who started walking back to his room. But before he could step into Seokwoo's room, the door slammed, and the click sound hinted that he locked the door. "Very well. See you at work." He said, walking back to his room. Seokwoo and Dawon were both authors, while Seokwoo mostly wrote mystery and horror; Dawon wrote comedy. His first work became a best seller in less than a week. He was currently working on a new book which he wanted to call it 'how to be a comedian, a guidebook for stony-hearted bitches'. Seokwoo immediately said yes to that title.

After taking a short nap which turned into thirty minutes one he changed into a formal outfit and took his car keys as he made his way out of his room. He looked at his watch. He was already late for this month's company meeting. He ran out and decided to give up on the usual americano but immediately regretted it when he saw the huge traffic. He sighed, knowing he won't arrive there right in time. He was at the verge of having a heart attack from nervousness when he finally arrived. He ran to the meeting room just to see the last person strolled out. He watched her walk away. He didn't see her face properly, but he was sure he never saw her in the company before.

He walked back to his desk and saw the edit laying neatly on it. On the first page, right below Seokwoo's note was a message written with a pink pen. 'Thank you, I'm glad I did well. I also finished these pages. Addition: I was hoping on meeting you in today's meeting. Unfortunately couldn't since you weren't there.' Seokwoo ran his fingers in his hair aggressively, so she was there, and he couldn't meet her. He took a black pen and started writing, 'first of all, thank you for finishing, second...I overslept, my housemate screamed in my ear to wake me up, and I went back to bed to sleep for just 5 minutes. Turned out I slept for a whole thirty minutes, and there was a heavy traffic on the way.' Once he finished writing the message, he placed it on her desk and finally started working on the final part of the story.

The next day he came to work to find two post its on his desk. The first one was stuck on his keyboard, 'no worries, we can meet each other another time, it's all about time. Also waking up like that can really be a pain, thank god I live alone.' He looked at the second post it which was on the final part of the story. Right under his message of 'to be edited' she wrote, 'CONGRATS on finally finishing the story...but the ending doesn't feel like Rowoon's stories. Are you sure you wrote this?' He stared at the note in shock for a few minutes, what does she mean this doesn't feel like his work?

He looked through the ending, she was kind of right. He could tell something was missing in the story; the ending was good enough but still needed something. He took the papers and walked over to Dawon's desk, dropping the papers on his desk. "Read it," he said, leaning against his desk. "What's the name?" Dawon asked, extremely energetic, "The Mystery Of The Haunted Jukebox" he answered, taking one of Dawon's books from his desk. Dawon silently skimmed through the pages. He facepalmed when he reached the ending. "The ending is bullshit,"

Seokwoo's jaw was now literally on the floor, "what?? It's not bullshit" he aggressively took the papers from Dawon, "Dude, you are famous for your surprise endings. This ending...It was my first guess while reading. I mean look at it, if I were the reader, I would come all the way here and punch you for this bullshit." He explained, leaning back in his chair watching Seokwoo, who was on the edge of a mental breakdown. He stood there, thinking about how he could change the ending to his reader's liking. "Thanks, hyung" he said, walking back to his desk, he had an idea for the ending, but it needed development.

It was already the end of the week, and Seokwoo officially finished writing the day before, and today he found the edited version on his desk. As always, the edit was flawless, and on the last page, a yellow post-it was stuck with a message written on it. 'Author Rowoon, here's the final edit and congratulations on finishing the story (for real this time) the new ending is perfection, it had me crying for a whole two hours. I really liked it, and I'm sure it will sell well. I already sent a copy of the final work to the designing team. They said they'll show you their works for the cover tomorrow. Wow, I wrote too much, I look forward to buying the book itself. Have a nice day ♡ ' Seokwoo smiled while reading it, he attached the note to the small vase at his desk.

He opened his email to check the designs. He downloaded the files. There were three different designs. The first one was showing a Jukebox covered in dust, and the background was dark grey, at the top the title was written in brown. He wanted to vomit upon seeing the picture. The second wasn't that bad, but it wasn't good enough, it was showing a Jukebox at the corner of an old restaurant and at the top, the title was written in gold. Finally, the last one made his jaw drop. It had no pictures of a Jukebox. It was just a combination of music notes in a circle with dark blue and on the background with a lighter shade of blue. Right at the middle, the title was written with an elegant font in shiny gold. Under the title, his pen name was written in red. It was exactly what he wanted.

He turned in his chair towards the designing team's desk, "the last one...the blue and gold one is the one." He shouted, and the designing team cheered in happiness. They only had one week left until the publishing deadline, and things were already going great.

"Here's your nine copies of The Mystery of the Haunted Jukebox." Kang from publishing unit placed nine copies on Seokwoo's desk, the release was tomorrow at ten, and everyone was going crazy about it. Seokwoo turned to him with a sheepish smile, "can I have another one?" Kang nodded his head and placed another one on the stack of book. Seokwoo took one of the books and opened the first page to look at the copyright page. Right under his name, he found her name. Violet Shaw. So she was a foreigner. Since she was new, she still didn't have her name on her desk. Seokwoo was also too shy to ask her name in the notes they left for each other. He took a pen and drew a small star next to her name. Then he closed the book and slapped a post-it on the cover. He began writing the message on it.

He stopped before writing down his name. He wasn't sure if he should write his pen name or real name. The pen was hovering over the paper, ready to write. He gulped as he started writing again. He signed and placed the book alongside with the post it on her desk.

'Dear editor Shaw

Congratulations, we have officially published our very first volume together. I'm glad I've got to work with you on this (even though we never really met). I look forward to working with you again on the future volumes.

Yours sincerely,

Kim Seokwoo'
