Eric rushed across the kitchen, pouring coffee into a mug and grabbing himself a banana before sprinting to the bedroom. Soon after, Draven appeared in the kitchen and drank the coffee before setting the mug into the sink. There was a mirror beside the sink, and he examined himself, tightening his tie and stepping backwards to observe himself with the sling around his arm. He hated the look, made him appear weak when he wanted to seem intimidating.
Which is why as he was attempting to remove it when Eric returned, "What are you doing?"
"It doesn't look good—"
"You better leave that on," he narrowed his eyes before grabbing Draven's briefcase from the counter. "Ready to go?"
"Not really."
Eric's lips tightened into a thin line for a moment; it upset him seeing Draven in this way. He behaved as if he was all vulnerable and weak, but Eric was not going to let this happen, "It's your floor and your work their working on; they need their boss."
Although he knew Eric was right, Draven simply sighed, "I'm not ready yet—"
"Yes you are," he insisted, reaching him and placing a palm on his chest, "you'll be as ready as you can ever be today. Please, let's go together."
Although Draven was reluctant, he left Eric interlace their fingers and walk towards the exit. Before they left, Draven tried again, "Why can't I take it off?"
"If I find you with your sling off anytime soon, I will lose it," the threatening tone behind Eric's voice made Draven gulp, and he followed behind Eric quietly.
When they reached the building, Draven was confused when he saw three huge and built mean approach their car. Eric turned off the motor and explained, "Chancellor created an escort system; they escort you to your cars and back."
"Why?" Draven asked, descending from the car.
"Because of Kyle. He's afraid that something like that could happen at our building—"
"So he made an entire escorting system because of..." Draven halted in his steps, glanced towards the three bodyguards surrounding him and suddenly began storming towards his car, "I'm leaving—"
"Draven!" Eric sprinted after him, and reached for his wrist. "Stop, we need to get in there."
"Not if everyone's going to treat me as if I'm a weakling; a whole escort system?"
"It's just safety precautions. Besides, it'll only help us and it's only until you're inside the building."
"No, I'm not dealing with—"
"Draven!" Eric's eyes had narrowed, and his grip had suddenly tightened. "We are going in there! Stop trying to find every way to leave and let's go!" That was it for Eric, who began pulling Draven towards the building and shoving him inside when they reached the double doors.
The wait in the elevator was the longest he ever experienced, and before they could reach the floor, Eric glanced towards Draven before exhaling a long sigh and pressing on the stop button. The elevator stopped, and Draven's face contorted, "What are you—"
"Look at me."
When their gaze met, Eric tenderly placed his lips on Draven's, gripping his suit and pushing his chest against his. Draven reciprocated the love, moving his lips along with Eric before they both eventually pulled apart.
