Thanks so much for taking a look at this story. Just some quick info about it before you read it.
Firstly, please be aware that this story is written using Australian English. This will affect the spelling, grammar and syntax you may be used to. It might come across as typos, awkward sentences, poor grammar, or missed/wrong words. In the majority of cases (I won't claim it's infallible, despite all best efforts), this is intentional and just an Aussie way of speaking (it took my US beta readers a bit to get used to). I can't say 'the' Aussie way, since we seem to differ even within the same state. Just think of us as a weird mix of British and US vernacular and colloquialisms, but with our own randomness thrown in. I still hope you enjoy it, though!
I wrote it and the second book as essentially one stream of consciousness 120k story during my Honours research into fictionalising Irish faeries. But I quickly realised it needed to be split and edited. Thus, books 1 and 2 of the 9 book series were created.
I had intended for it to be a bit darker, a bit grungier, but I'm pretty happy with what I ended up with. I'd also intended for the fae to be much more true to Irish mythology, but they and the story ran away without me having much say in it. It is what it is - which might not be what I'd planned, but I like reading it :) I hope you do too.
Book 1 is complete on Wattpad. Book 2 is also finished, and the first draft currently available on Wattpad. And book 3 is in progress. Depending on how much interest there is, there's also an Eamon-backstory novella I can make available.
