"Ah! Oh, that's cold..." Keith shivered.
"Sorry... You doing okay?" Lance tilted his head, and concentrated on Keith's breathing. It had regulated, and was no longer a harsh grating.
Keith nodded, and Lance resumed setting his ribs.
I can't believe this! My senses are on another level -- I can almost see Keith's muscle fibers weave together when I concentrate hard enough. Now, I'll seal up his cut... and quickly, so that we can get out of here sooner.
Manic laughter bubbled out of Melvark. "Korvok, Xarvok -- this is it! This is what we've been waiting for! Finally -- a fully functioning Altean will give my experiments the boost they needed! Lord Zarkon will realize his mistake in exiling me to this barren outpost, and maybe even Prince Lotor will request that I join him and his team as Chief Scientist...!" A wistful look was in his eyes. It hardened, and Melvark turned to leave the room. "Xarvok, grab the Altean; Korvok, hold back the other one. Make sure they stay in separate rooms."
Zarkon? Does Melvark not know what happened?
Keith growled. "You're not taking Lance. I've had enough of your false words and trickery." He moved forward, to intercept Xarvok. Xarvok darted past, and Korvok tackled Keith.
Lance smirked inwardly, and lowered himself into an athletic stance. "I can't summon my bayard like Keith can, but I can do this--" Lance punched Xarvok, sending him flying. The lieutenant collapsed in a heap. "If Allura has super-strength, why can't I?"
"Fool!" Melvark shouted, halfway through the wall. "Korvok, change of plans -- grab the Altean."
Korvok nodded, and broke away from fighting Keith.
A drop of sweat trickled down Lance's neck. This Galran was heavier built than the first, and would probably not be as easy to combat.
"Why are you turning your back on me?" Keith scooped up his bayard and then slashed at the backs of Korvok's legs. Korvok cried out, and fell to the ground.
Keith extended a hand to Lance. "Escape with me?"
Lance smiled. "Sure."
