outside the glass case

you can hear them murmur
in between their giggles,
you can see their eyes
as they follow you further.

you can feel their long,
dreamy stares,
they sigh and keep looking
as if they actually care.

they laugh because they
couldn't understand you,
they stare because they admire you.
they wonder to themselves
how you became you.

but they can do
nothing more than to look,
for a statue cannot be held
displayed inside the museum.
