painting your face
white,
stop
painting your cheeks
red,
do not
put too much lipstick
on your soft, cracked,
and warm lips,
do not dye your hair rainbow,
and stop waiting,
stop assuming,
that he'll like you,
that he'll want you,
that he'll love you,
let your sense of humor make him laugh,
but don't be the center of the joke,
you aren't a fucking clown.
