Her P.O.V.

I trained my whole life for this moment.

Ever since I was little, they were perfecting Project Moonlark

And I was prepared for it.

It was late at night and the Collective called for my presence.
      They asked me to take a seat. They looked at each other for reassurance and the bravest one broke the silence,

"Moonlark had recently arrived. She is still bearing the loss of her human family but she will recover. Jolie's parents are her to-be guardians." Wraith explained.

"We already enrolled you to Foxfire onto one level ahead than her so you can be her guide. We will send you a folder with more information and everything else you'll need. Tomorrow is the first day, it's best if you start preparing." Mr. Forkle added.

They didn't need to tell me the plan twice. I jumped out of the seat, darted toward my room to get my things ready.

~~~~~~
    When I returned to my room I saw my new level 4 uniform, a satchel, text books, a nexus, leap crystal and everything else I needed.
I opened the folder, carefully studying Moonlark's and my schedule. It seems we only have a few class together but the rest of them were near where I take my classes.
I start to memorize the map of foxfire until I heard a knock on my door.
I got out of bed and saw it was Mr. Forkle. He gave me a weary smile and started the conversation with with his two favorite words,
"You kids should sleep early, tomorrow is going to be a big day." I stared at him blankly, reminded him of my mission.
I'm can't be a kid anymore, I'm now her guide."
He couldn't argue but sympathy was still floating in his eyes.
"She still need to adjust to her new life so remember to smile, it will be easier for her to warm up to you."
The only respond he got was a nod.
After he left, I dropped myself onto my bed, letting a long sigh accompanied by a deep cough.
     I tried to cover the sound up before anyone could hear it.
I checked my palms and only saw a few droplets of black.
It's not that bad this time.
After wiping the pigment off, I wondered how Moonlark think of me.
Will I be too cold? Will I be intimidating? Well I did tend to look bold while scanning my environment, checking for any Neverseen tracks.
Smile? Sounds reasonable.
I got out of bed, walking towards my mirror.
I looked at my reflection, studying my face, and noticed how my poker face might frighten Moonlark.
   I needed to changed the way I looked since I had to keep some my identities secret.
I let my hair down, letting the waves fall into place. It helped soften my features making me look more friendly I guess.
   Then I tried to put some lip tint and eyeshadows. It really brought my eyes out and my undertone colors but cleaned it off, not wishing for attention during my mission.
    It was past midnight after I washed my face.
Why did I try to put makeup on?
I changed into my pjs, turned off the lights letting a crack of moonlight from my curtains pour into my room. My mind starting to bubble up more questions.
What kind of people are they at foxfire?
Will they be a conflict to my mission?
My heartbeat and my breathing slows down as my dreams took over.
Collective P.O.V.
At first we were so certain we were fully prepared for this project, training her endlessly and carefully creating project Moonlark into a reality but ever since she was heartbroken, we cannot be sure of her fate being the same as it was before.
And because of this uncertainty, we made a few tweaks to the plan,
"I hope he will be able to heal her." Squall whispered as Granite sighed.
"She won't be the same. She is like Wylie but the best thing is that she learns how to let go."
The only agreement was silence.
The collective decided to dismiss themselves for the night. Many couldn't sleep, especially Granite. He worried about all the horrible possibilities could've have happened to her.
Can she deal with everything even without an ability? Of course she can we trained her for so long!
What happens if her emotions control her? No, Tinker helped her with that.
What happens if she gives up? No, it doesn't seem like she would.
But there was one question that he dreaded the most,
What happens if the appointed boy to save her wasn't enough?
