Ahsoka closed her eyes. She knew she had likely fell asleep in her master's arms, which she found slightly embarrassing, since he was probably tucking her in like a small child.
That's when the nightmare started...She knew it was unable to be avoided, because she had the same one almost every single time she fell asleep.
She had to get through this one, though, chances are, her reaction would either be the same, or worse, because last time it was difficult to take, and caused her to break down sobbing.

Ahsoka stood in the middle of an open field. It seemed void of any life, except for her and her master, whom she stood beside. A small building was the only thing around them.
"This isn't the place i was expecting.." Ahsoka said as she gazed up at Anakin in confusion. He had the same expression on his face as well.
"Neither was I..." He replied. His head turned to take in their surroundings. No trees, plants, or animals anywhere..not even a droid.
"Is this the right place?" Ahsoka asked. Confusion filled her voice as she attempted to pinpoint just where they were.
She glanced over at Anakin. He seemed to be concentrating. But only moments later, he sighed and shook his head. "I don't think so..but why would Obi-Wan tell us to come here?" He asked, turning to face his padawan.
"Maybe someone told him the wrong coordinates?" She suggested, eye marking raising.
Anakin was about to speak, but he sensed something...imminent danger..Something was terribly wrong. They weren't sent here by mistake..

It was a trap.

Ahsoka seemed to realize it at the same exact time he did, but she didn't respond quick enough.
He threw himself on top of Ahsoka, yelling at her to get down just as a bunch of explosions began to ring out. Throughout the chaos, blasters were faintly heard as well.
Ahsoka gasped, surprised by her master's sudden actions. He had thrown himself over her, shielding her from any of the debris or blasts that may have been directed toward them.
As soon as it was over, Ahsoka heard a strangled gasp from her master. She gently rolled him off of her and onto the ground, her eyes widening at his state.
Blood was running down the side of his face, a piece of debris lodged in his abdomen, and an ugly gash on his arm.
He coughed violently, and Ahsoka quickly took notice of the blood running down his mouth.
"Master, no!"
She crawled over to him and lifted his head, and part of his upper body, into her lap. She could hear his labored breathing and pained gasps.
She saw his gaze slowly move up to meet hers.
"Sn-Snips.." he muttered hoarsely. He coughed once again, a pained moan escaping him.
His head seemed to loll to the side. Ahsoka used her free hand to keep his head upright. At this point, the tears were pouring down her face, and she was silently weeping.
"Please, don't die..." she begged, gripping his arm.
Anakin looked back up at her, clearly noticing the tears pouring down his padawan's face.
"It's okay..." he said. His voice was weak and hoarse. He didn't know why..and honestly, he didn't want to know.
He lifted his shaky hand up, brushing some tears away from Ahsoka's face.
"Don't cry, Ahsoka..it's gonna-" he coughed and swallowed thickly. "It's gonna be okay.."
Ahsoka shook her head, more tears pouring down her face.
"N-no it's n-not...your dying!"
Anakin could easily sense his padawan's extreme pain and overwhelming sadness.
He weakly moved his hand and gently gripped Ahsoka's. She instantly gripped his back tightly, overcome with grief.
"Snips.." he gasped, his hand suddenly gripping Ahsoka's much tighter. He started to convulse, which only made Ahsoka more distressed.
"Master!"
She squeezed his hand and laid her free one on his chest, trying to keep him from jolting upwards and hurting himself even further.
He groaned and his body seemed to instantly relax, though it left him extremely weak, and his strength was wavering.
"S-Snips..." he groaned. His eyes lazily drifted up to meet Ahsoka's. He took a quivering breath, and spoke the words Ahsoka never wanted to hear in her entire existence.
"I'm...I'm not going to...." he gasped, "I'm not gonna make it..."

Ahsoka's panicked, blue eyes widened. "No. No you are going to make it, Master. Don't say that...please don't say that.."
Anakin smiled weakly at her, lifting his arms up and wrapping them around her. She instantly lifted him up carefully and embraced him, sobbing into his uninjured shoulder.
"I-it's going to be okay, Ahsoka..." He muttered weakly. His voice wavered. "I-I promise.."
Ahsoka heard her master's voice break, instinctively gripping him tighter. "Don't leave me...please.."
Anakin's breathing hitched, and started to slow dramatically as he pulled in large gasps of air, only for it to escape him quickly.
"I'm sorry..S-Snips..." he gasped.
She pulled back, and they both stared at each other for a few moments. Ahsoka was still sobbing uncontrollably, and looking at him made it worse, but she didn't want to look away.
He managed to give her a small smile, despite the agonizing pain
"Me too..." Ahsoka managed to reply through sobs.
She grabbed his shoulders and pulled him into an embrace again. She felt him seem to relax against her, his breathing soon becoming nothing more than struggling gasps.
She hugged him tighter as she continued to sob. "Please-please dont-"
She felt him collapse against her, and she laid him back on the ground, staring at his motionless body.

"NO!" She screamed, jolting awake.
She looked around her room frantically, before reality struck her once again.
She sighed and collapsed back against her pillow.
Stupid dream...
