School had just ended and summer had just begun. The long days of cold and snow were over and there would be days at the beach and camp. When my parents had told me that I was going to Camp Angst, I was so happy I called all my friends to tell them about the news while screaming with joy and excitement. I had always wanted to go to a camp and hangout with newly made friends, exchange numbers, and then go back to camp next year after hanging out every weekend before that. All I had ever wanted was to go to a camp, and now I could! Me, Lia, a girl that had never gone to a camp was going to one! Camp Angst was going to be the best place ever!

The ride to camp had a beautiful landscape. Mountains that rolled and dipped and plains that stretched across what seemed like endless fields. The breeze drifted through the terrain like a butterfly just out of it's chrysalis. I enjoyed the ride gazing out of my window and occasionally pointing out exciting landforms to my parents. "There do you see it?" I ask my parents when the first man-made structure appeared in the distant horizon. There, there was the camp I was going to spend 2 weeks at. All by myself without my parents. Camp was going to be a place of new discoveries and memories. Little did I know, that did happen but not in the way I had imagined it.
