Kayley's POV

"Would you mind me asking what the other reason is?" Liam asked.

"I'd rather not say... right now," I whispered.

Liam nodded and moved the hair from in front of my face. I bet I looked like a hot mess, but honestly, I didn't care.

"It's fine. You don't have to say anything if you don't want to," he said. He was so nice.

"You're too sweet for your own good," I whispered softly. "You know that, right?"

Daddy Direction looked down at me and smiled. "I've been told."

For the rest of the way back home (I didn't know where that field was at, and I honestly didn't care), Liam sat in the back with me, my head on his lap. I was curled up on my side, facing away from him or else things could've gotten a wee bit awkward. He had one hand on the side of my thigh and the other hand stroking my hair. It would've been a beautiful besties moment if I hadn't just had a mental breakdown. This is exactly why I should've stayed in therapy. I knew this would happen again, but I had really thought I was better. I guess not.

I slipped into a dreamless sleep. When I woke up, I groaned, "What century is it?"

I heard Liam say, "It's the thirty-seventh century, sleepy-head." Yep. It did feel like I slept for 1600 years. I realized that we were still in the van and it was really dark outside.

"What time is it?" I asked.

I felt him dig around in his pocket and then he said, "It's about nine thirty."

"Where are you taking us this time?" I whispered.

"Back to your house."

"How do you know the directions?"

"Alice is your neighbor, right?"

"Oh, yeah..." I trailed off. I couldn't wait to get home... Another bout of sleep. This time, however, it wasn't dreamless.

I was back in the woods at the field with Niall. I saw Alex come out and threaten to shoot me. It didn't bother me because I knew I could beat him up. When I turned to Niall, he wasn't standing there anymore. Thomas was there.

"Tommy!" I said, and I ran to him.

"Kayley!" he laughed. I went to give him a hug, but my arms went right through him.

"W-what's happening?" I asked.

"Kayley! Look-" I couldn't hear the rest of what Tommy was saying to me. I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head and I blacked out. Is it possible to black out in a dream? I stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity. When I could finally make out what was going on around me, I saw Jordan and Alex standing over me, smirking.

"Where's Niall?!" I screamed.

Jordan laughed. "Ha! We took care of him. Now you're all mine..."

I screamed and blacked out again.

I woke up with my face drenched in sweat and Liam gasping in pain. What did I do...?

"Liam? Are you okay?" I asked hesitantly.

"You were having a dream..." he gasped. "And your head hit my no-no spot!"

I chuckled at his innocence. "I'm so sorry!" I said. I really didn't mean to hit his "no-no spot." I would never wish that on Liam. He's too... He's a bit of everything good: sweet, funny, innocent, etc.
