"So this is your house." I say staring at the mansion before me. "It's nice. What do your parents do for a living?" I ask as I walk through the door.
"It's just me and my uncle Kenny. Take off your shoes." He says while staring at my dirty shoes. "Don't track the mud through the house."
"OK, Sorry. You never answered my question though. What does your uncle do for a living?" I ask timidly.
"It's none of your concern." He says with his piercing grey eyes. "Come this way." He says while walking up the stairs.
As I enter through the doorway to his room I inhale the fresh scents of black tea. I look around and everything is clean and tidy. There's no dust to be found and everything is in perfect condition.
"WOW! You're room is so clean!" I say while setting my bag on his perfectly made bed. "Let's get started."
Hours passed and I kept catching glances at him. We work on an essay that's due in 2 weeks. I can't help but wander around the room when I finish my homework before him.
"Hey, who's this?" I say while picking up a picture of a young boy and a women laughing together.
"That's my mom." He says not breaking his stare away from his computer. "Hey, you should go." He says while looking out the window.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you when I asked about the photo." I say while packing up my things.
"It's not that, you just need to go." He says with a cold look on his face. "Now!" He says while practically pushing me out of his bedroom door.
"Kiddo, I'm home." I hear a voice say. "Where are you?" It asks. Suddenly his eyes fall upon me and Levi and they start to narrow. "Who is this?" He asks coming up the stairs.
"No one. They're no one." He says through clenched teeth. "Run." He quickly mouths to me.
I quickly dart passed the strange guy and run out the door and all the way back home. As soon as I get inside I lock the door and run to my room. When I get there I'm panting. I quickly get ready for bed and lock up the house. I close my eyes and drift to sleep.
I wake up to cold air hitting my face. I slowly get out of bed and change into some clothes. I walk outside my door and freeze. I feel eyes staring at me. I turn around to see Levi.
