Sal was in his room, tidying up a bit. He was anxious but also excited for Travis to come over. This time there wouldn't be a stupid bell to cut their conversation short. He jumped at the sound of a light knock on his door. He ran to open it.

"Sal, some boy's here to see you." His dad said, moving away from the doorframe and motioning to a very awkward looking Travis in the living room. He was fidgeting with the hem of his sweater and looking around the apartment nervously. Sal chuckled lightly.

"Thanks, dad. You can come into my room, Travis!" He called into the living room. Travis jumped a bit, making his way into Sal's room. Sal shut the door behind him.

"So..." Travis mumbled, still playing with the hem of his sweater nervously. Sal sat on his bed, while Travis just stayed standing in the middle of the room. "What now?" Sal giggled a bit and Travis felt his face redden.

"Come sit down, silly. You obviously need someone to talk to." Travis cautiously made his way to the bed and sat down gingerly, as if the bed was made of glass. Sal rolled his eye and looked at Travis, turning his upper body to face the blond. Travis was looking at the floor, but felt Sal's gaze on him and looked up. "Come on, Travis. Why were you crying in the bathroom today?"

Travis looked a bit shocked by the question. He stared at the floor for a bit, forming words in his head. Slowly, he began to speak.

"Well... It's a lot." He began, raising his head to stare at the wall instead. "I guess everything got to be too much, you know? With almost everyone at school hating me, everything going on at home, and then I realized that I like y-" He cut himself off, feeling his face heat up as Sal stared at him. "...somebody. I like somebody. I know they'll never like me because of everything I've done to them. Besides, it's wrong. These feelings are wrong." His hands went to his head, tightly gripping his blond hair. Sal noticed this and gently placed a hand on his wrist, causing Travis to flinch a bit.

"Hey, it's ok. Calm down. You're ok." He said softly. Travis looked at him and slowly removed his hands from his hair, placing them in his lap instead. He sighed, and Sal continued. "It sounds to me that you're dealing with a lot right now, with a lot of different things. I understand your family is heavily religious, correct?" Travis nodded slowly.

"Yeah, why?" Sal glanced at the cross necklace around Travis's neck and then back up at him.

"With you saying stuff's going on at home, it sounds like maybe your family's religious views are influencing your emotions towards others." Travis blinked, staring at Sal. How had he managed to get that from just telling him stuff was going on at home? Before he could say anything, Sal continued. "From what I can tell, it sounds like your crush is a boy."

Travis's heart stopped for a moment as he stared at Sal. Had he found out that Travis liked him? Oh god, had he found the note? Was he going to hate him? As these questions were running through Travis's head, there was a small knock on the door.

"It's unlocked, come in!" Sal yelled, causing Travis to flinch again. Sal glanced at him before the door opened. His dad walked in, holding a tray with some snacks on it. Sal's eye brightened a bit as he spotted the food.

"I know you have a friend over, Sal, so I figured you might want some snacks." Henry said, setting the tray down on the bedside table. On it was 2 "fun-sized" bags of chips, some ranch with various vegetables, and a ham-and-cheese sandwich cut in half.

"Thanks dad!" Sal said brightly. Travis stayed silent for a moment before speaking up.

"Thank you, sir." He said quietly, looking at the ground instead of Henry. Henry gave him a quizzical look before leaving the room and shutting the door. Sal nudged Travis, and he jumped a bit.

"You hungry, Trav?" Sal asked, slightly tilting his head. Travis blushed a bit at the nickname and nodded, taking a carrot off the tray and biting a small piece off of it. Sal took one of the bags of chips and began eating. "Anyways, where were we?"

"Uh, you were talking about my family being religious or something." Travis murmured, taking another veggie from the tray. Sal's eye widened as he remembered.

"Oh yeah! Your family is religious, and they even own Phelps Ministry. That would obviously put pressure on you, especially if you like a boy." Sal spoke nonchalantly, as if this was an everyday topic. There was an awkward silence before Travis realized that Sal was waiting for him to talk.

"Oh! Uh..." Travis contemplated as to wether or not he should just tell Sal right then and there. Fuck it, Travis thought. He took a deep breath before speaking again. "You're right, Sal. I do like a guy." Wow, it felt great to get that off his chest. Sal blinked for a moment, as if processing what Travis had said.

Travis nervously fiddled with his sweater, waiting for Sal's response.

"...Who is it?" Sal said quietly, which surprised Travis. He looked up and Sal was looking away from him, staring at the ground with his hands in his lap. Travis gulped and looked away.

"You."
