Luna gathered her dress and stared painfully down at the cage in the center of the platform.
There he was, like a prince, shoulders stiff, head high, even though the situation called for a much lower status.
Judge Jackson lowered the gavel with an air of doom, and in a booming voice announced the fate of Draco Malfoy.
"Guilty!"
There were whispers and murmurs, rising to a steady roar.
Luna knew it was coming, and touched her slightly swollen abdomen lightly. He didn't deserve this, she thought, wishing to rush down and envelop him in a safe hug. How would she survive without him? How would she support their child?
Luna wished she could save her lover, hold him in her arms until this was all over.
Yet she remained silent throughout the whole condemnation.
A tear made its way down her pale cheek and she wiped it away hurriedly, standing as the meeting adjourned.
They were taking him away, she thought quickly as she ran down the stairs and ran onto the platform.
"Please! Please!" Came her anxious cry as she fell to her knees and extended her hands.
The guards paused from lifting Draco from his seat behind the bars and turned towards her. "No. We have direct orders to escort him to-."
"Please! Just a minute!" She cried, tears now rushing down her face with no stopping.
Draco spoke now, asking for 2 minutes with her.
Luna begged them in her hazy mind to say yes, yearning to touch Draco and tell him her news.
The guards grunted. "Thirty seconds." Said the taller one, before turning their back and marching to the door.
As soon as their backs were turned Draco and threw his arms around Luna.
"Luna." He whispered, everything being said in that one word.
"Draco. Draco. Draco I've got news." Luna told him hurriedly, eyes tearing up once more.
"I'm pregnant."
The humor of this hit her, he was being carted off to Azkaban and she was telling him of the child they'd created.
Draco let our a guttural noise and shook his head. "You can't be! Luna, It's too dangerous!"
At this moment the guards turned and pulled him away from her.
"No! No!" He cried, fighting and kicking.
Luna stood and reached toward him, blowing him a kiss. She captured this moment, seeing him surrendering, watching his handsome back being escorted out, the glimmer of worry shining in his eyes as he turned back once to look at her.
Luna remembered this memory, taking in his silvery eyes.
