Everyone everyday passed by the broken raven haired boy. No one paid him any attention as he stared out to an island with a broken down building. The boy so thin it looked like he never ate. It always confused me why no one went to him... no one ever even paid him a glance.
Then one day when I sat in the same coffee shop I noticed he was getting up. Without thinking I got up and followed him down to the shore. He stared out at the big rough waves and started to walk into the water. The waves hit his legs and he almosts tipped over however he struggled to keep going. He looked so sad and it made my chest twist painfully.
For some reason after seeing him all those months ago I couldn't help but go to the coffee shop everyday. Even if was a risk for someone like me. I may not know who he is but I already felt as if I could never lose him. So I ran out behind him into the water. The man seemed in his own little world as he got up to his stomach. I was breathing deeply when I reached him and I almost fell into the water a couple of times.
However I grabbed his arm making the man freeze. "Mate, you shouldn't do this. You may feel lost right now but you're not alone." The raven haired man slowly turned to look at me and I lost my breath at his beautiful face. Even though he looked exhausted his pale complexion blew me away. He had girlish lips and huge ears that would look dorky on anyone other than him. Then there was his sharp cheekbones that made him look even more beautiful. His blue eyes popped and he had a start of a beard going. His hair was a mess and yet he was so perfect I couldn't breath.
Suddenly the boy burst into tears and wrapped his arms around me quickly. "It's okay... I've got you." I didn't know why it was easy with him, I wasn't the most touchy feely person. "My names Arthur... what's yours?"
The thin man flew away from me and couldn't help but feel bad. "Y-you don't?" The man's voice was extremely rough like he hadn't used it in years. "You don't know me?" He was crying harder shaking like a leaf.
"I'm sorry, I don't... Why don't we get out of the water and we can chat." He nodded frantically and I helped back up to the coffee shop. However, I walked past that to my car, helping him into the passenger's side. I get behind the wheel and start the car. "Where do you live? I could help you get home..."
He looks down at his lap, "I don't think you'd want to drive that far..." I smiled at him and he sharply inhaled making me raise an eyebrow.
"How about we head to get some food? You look like you need a nice warm meal." The man looked at me with such sadness I had to look away.
"Why are you helping me if you don't even remember me?" I blush a tiny bit and started driving to a very quiet restaurant.
"I saw you sit there everyday... for the last few months at least. Everyone ignored you not even sparing you a glance. You looked in pain... so I started going to the coffee shop near there to see if you were okay. However you barely even lifted your head. Until today... and I wanted to make sure you were alright. My sister, she's been making fun of me for it since she found out. My sister makes fun of me for everything though. But then my friends got in on it to. That sucked but it is what it is... I just need to be there for you. Even if I never really was... I'm sorry, that's probably a lot more then you need to know. And please don't be freaked out... I didn't mean to be a creep I just couldn't help it."
There was a small smile on his face but it was still broken. "They didn't look at me because I made sure they didn't. My names Merlin Emrys... can you pull over? I feel sick." Quickly pulling over the man stumbles out and gives me a once over before heading into the crowd. I park the car and try to follow him but the man was gone.
"Merlin!" I yelled and someone looked at me eyes widening, realizing who I was. There was one thing I was good at and it was blending in and now I brought too much attention to myself. So I climb back into my car and carefully made my way to my apartment.
