And thus, they were just laying there. Amatsuki holding the other tightly in his arms. Both of them breathing calmly and rhythmically. Feeling safe and sound. The dim moonlight shining onto them through the window.
Mafu found himself half-asleep, as his thoughts began to wander around...

I'm so happy. I can't believe this really is my life. In which I've been gifted such a wonderful relationship. With such a wonderful human being.
All my flaws, my imperfections. My scars, my wounds. They all don't matter to him. Because he truly loves me, no matter what.
It took me so long, but I finally learned what 'love' really is. It's not what I knew before.
It's not like in the movies.
It's not the handsome, muscular, tall guy making out with a petite, pretty, shorter girl.
It's not just about passionate sex or proving your vow to God and the world.

It's this... Feeling. This indescribable, unique feeling of safety and trust.
It just feels like... Home.
Being able to let your guard down.
To truly be yourself around your significant other.
You could do or say the craziest things, they wouldn't judge you no matter what.
Because they love you beyond the surface.
They aren't just attracted to your body or character.

They are in love with what's deep within you.
With whatever that is that makes your heart beat.

What do people call it?
A... Soul?
Yeah, that's right.
That's it.
That's what makes our relationship so special.
We are...

Soulmates.

I never believed in these kinds of things.
Until now.
Now, I believe that if he is with me... If we are together...
No matter what hardships lie ahead;
No matter what person or thing wants to tear us apart;
No matter what weird twists fate may have in store for us;

Everything will be alright.

Love is that one thing that overpowers everything else.
The one thing that can turn things right.
That gives you the strength to fight through your fears.
That can give you the answers to the questions you've been asking the world all your life.
