Chapter Not Revised

My jaw dropped. Holy pickles whats going on...

"Mom, Dad?" I screamed like a lunatic, "How am I seeing you? What's going on?"

My parents smiled. Yes, just smiled. Those crazies.

"All will be explained later, baby." My mother told me.

"Sweet heart, you need to be careful. It's not safe. Trust no one." My dad simply said.

They then started to fade away like in the movies.

"Wait! Why isn't it safe? Don't leave me again!!" I cried.

They both gave me sad smiles, then vanished.

I'm crazy, I'm so utterly crazy.

It was Sunday, a whole day after my parents ghosts showed up at the funeral home and two days since the fire. I was on a plane to my new home, the fabulous Brooksville, Maine. Woohoo. Grandma was sitting next to me doing a crossword puzzle that had little kangaroos bouncing around on the page.

My parents must have known I would be able to see them, but how? Am I some kind of psychic? CAN I GET MONEY FOR THIS. So many things ran through my mind. I was hallucinating, that's it. It felt so real though.

"Grandma, how many more hours until were there? My butt is asleep." I asked

"Only an hour left! After we get our luggage, were going to the mall! Isnt shopping fun!"

Shopping...fun? Grandma is exactly like mom...

When we finally landed, we picked up Lady from the cargo hold and dropped her off at this doggy daycare near the airport. Then Grandma drove me straight to the "grand" Brooksville County Mall.

This mall is literally the size ofa regular Wal-Mart back home. It has all these small brand stores and lots and lots of tire chain stores. Grandma handed me her credit card, said "have fun" and left to get some puzzles. Fun is not the word I would use to explain shopping...

I looked to my right to see an adorable boy around my age with glasses, shaggy blond hair and brown eyes, surrounded by bigger boys in football uniforms. They were laughing at him and pushing him around just like in all the cliche high school movies.

I walked right up to them and pushed my way into the middle. Im going to be superwoman and stop this before something reall bad happenes...probably to the little guy.

"Hey! Cut it out." I yelled.

The boys whistled and checked me out. Ugh, what pigs.

"Hey baby where'd you come from." the obvious leader said with a wink.

Their "leader" was about 6'0 with a shaved head and brown eyes. He looked like he weighed 300 pounds. His football uniform said "Atwood Preparatory" Probably the rich kid school...I can just tell.

I rolled my eyes. Boys, there all the same with their corny pick up lines.

"Did it hurt when you feel from heaven?" He asked.

"No," I replied, "but that pick up line was pretty painful."

His friends laughed and he shut them up with a glare.

"I like them spicy." He said and winked again.

I rolled my eyes, again, and grabbed the boys with glasses arm and walked away.

"Where you goin' baby?" The leader asked.

"Away from you big boy." I mumbled while I dragged the boy away.
