Chapter 6
The next morning, both awoke much earlier than usual. It was a special day! Within all the many difficulties of life, fixing something that was wrong in the past could be a blessing! A very considerable one in fact, and could only be magnificently gracious!
Antonya was already dressed when Gervasius got out of bed.
"You're ready! How excellent! I'll take my bath while you prepare the coffee".
"All right." Antonya then thought to herself: "My, how joyful he is! It doesn't even seem like the same Gervasius."
"Awaken the children, I will take them to school and then head to the shop. Leave everything ready and then let's go to Oliver and Rachel's house! Ha! How won-der-ful!"
"Go, go, go..." Said Antonya as she ran with a pillow after him.
Gervasius returned from his bath and got dressed, drank but a few gulps of coffee, for he was anxious- there was no time to eat. He sped up the pace with the children on their way to school, with Virginia, of course, always asking:
"Father, why are we rushing? What is this?"
"Today is a wonderful day, my daughter! Remember when I told you that I might be able to revisit my past to learn how solve it? And that I didn't know what the results were going to be?"
"Yes! Of course I remember! And did you go there? To your 'past'?"
"I did, I did!"
"So...?"
"Well, what do you think?"
"It appears to me that you've had an encounter with an angel... Yesterday you didn't even come to the bedroom so we could talk!"
"AHAHAH! No, I have not had an encounter with an angel, but the conversation did seem like reaching heaven! Encounter with an angel... Ha! You're very funny, Virginia! What an idea!"
"Well, it's what you have been talking about all these years..."
"Someday he will!" blurted Silvia. "He's the one who doesn't want to talk to us! He thinks we're afraid, even at this age! But we're not scared anymore, Gervasius!"
"No, my daughter, not Gervasius... it's father! FATHER! Also, it has nothing to do with that. Today your mother and I are going to meet with some old friends again! We will be as we were before... everything swell! Go to class, I'll come to fetch you all. Oh- and, today we'll be having visitors over for lunch!"
"It's the angel..."
Everyone now at a very hurried pace, continued to chit-chat along the streets...
"No Virginia! It's not the angel, but... it's as if everything that is happening "was" the work of an angel... You're going to meet some of your father's friends. Very dear friends that will always be with us from now on!"
"You're very happy, Gervasius!"
"You can't even imagine how much, my daughter... Nor can you fathom the happiness of your mother and I. Now go! Go! Get inside, for father is headed for the woodshop, and I shall still return home at this instant. Any kisses from my boys and girls? Hmmm! How wonderful, these kisses!"
So Gervasius left them all and headed to the shop, proceeded to open and determined to his employees what should be done.
"Well, these are the most urgent deliveries. Keep to work, I shall only be returning late."
