Mission goes wrong

Rescue on the way

A/n: I made some changes, which is (1) Ireen's age gap with Fang and BoboiBoy is 6 years and (2) Ireen and Lahap will arrive to TAPOPS within 2 days.

A day prior to Ireen's and Lahap's arrival to TAPOPS....

The sound of fingers tapping on the table distracted Lahap who is coincidentally walking into the control room.

Sitting at one of the empty chairs, he watched a female, too indulged with her work went unnoticed of his presence. Lahap thought that it is not a good habit to not be aware of the surrounding. But rethinking again, he is actually glad that the female is finally taking things casually instead of be aware all the time and giving no rest to her own self.

The past year training she did had slightly molded her to some of their captain's characteristics. It is good since that means they will have a stronger and self dependent member by their side. But it is not good if she truly turns to be like their captain who is so strict, harsh and cold to almost everyone.

Taking a step forward, he towered the female petite body from behind and looked at the book that she is currently holding, before sighing and talking.

"What are you so immerse with?"

His course voice gave a slight jump to the female as she turned hastily. "Leftenan... Man... Don't scared me like that", Ireen exhaled lightly.

She turned back forwards and her hand reached out to a cup of coffee in front.

"I am transcribing this book."

"You can read the writings? Have you learnt the ancient language?" Lahap asked interestingly. They got the book around a month ago, but no one ever able to read it since it was written in ancient and certain alien language. For the female who had limited knowledge on various languages that ever existed, there is no way she could read it any time sooner.

But her claim just now caused Lahap to wonder whether she had succeeded in learning so, or just trying out her luck.

"I didn't learn the language. I store the language into my scouter and let the device translated for me."

Indeed, Ireen is currently using her scouter, - a single eye-piece with green lens and dark maroon frame which is attached to an ear piece - and the device seemed to be running and coding. That eyepiece, is similar to Fang's. If Fang has a full glasses with lenses over both of his eyes, Ireen has only one, which is on her left eye.

Ireen came out with the device (with the help of Nut) when she realized that her power could be utilized along with the scouter to gather richer and deeper information and subsequently coming out with a better plan. The best part is, her captain's mask, Fang's glasses and the device has been modified which allowed the three to link and share whatever information they gather. In this case, Ireen is actually more to the host of the two, where when activating her 'room' power, whatever she saw and pieced at the back of her mind could be transfered to the two with a single click.

Infiltrating, gathering and investigating has always been Ireen's strength. Even without the device, her performance is outstanding enough. That piece of metal only acted as a medium for her to perform even better, along with her team.

And of course, Lahap too has his own piece, but due to him not having normal ear like how humans and humanoid aliens are, he rarely used it since it's uncomfortable and only getting in his way (that is what he said).
