"No way!" exclaimed Mia too excitedly for my liking.
Mia is the over enthusiastic chirpy little chick that flung herself at the opportunity of showing the new girl around. I have to say, I am really grateful for having someone to talk to on the first day at a new school, but woah, this girl can talk. I have experienced first hand, every single type if person out there; having moved schools around 6 times this year, but I have never come across someone like this. Thanks to my dad, my mother and I are constantly having to move places due to money problems but I wish that we could just settle down in one place like normal families.
As you might know, some types of people include the nerds, the bitches, the sporty ones, the music ones etc. But I have never come across a Mia. She's really friendly and stuff and has tried to fill me in on the gossip from the last three years all in the last 20 minutes that I've known her. She hurriedly speed walks through the hallway while openly pointing out who's who as everyone stares at the 'new girl'. But one thing I have never gotten used to is the uncomfortable stares that everyone gives you when you walk past. It is so difficult to read some people's expressions sometimes.

I try to look somewhat interested in Mia's rambling on by intently looking at her while she talks, somewhat oblivious to the fact that I can't see where the heck I am going in this completely new school.

I'm not the brightest crayon in the box.

Quite ironically, I can now go home and tell my mum that;on the first day if school, I fell into a trash can. Yes for real. And may I just say that it was horrible in there, only to add in all of the stares and laughter that erupted from the crowd around us. But no, it didn't stop there, little miss chatterbox was so involved in her gossip session that she tripped over me as well, only to find herself head first into a trash can as well.

As we hoisted each other up from the trash can, covered in all sorts of stuff (including gum) we just stood there in silence. Mia's perfect blonde hair was full of gum and was sticking out in a directions. My new jeans were covered in trash. It took me a whole 2 months to save up for these damn jeans .
As though reading some sort of telepathic signal, we grabbed each others hand and sprinted to the closest toilet and hid in the corner. Then we had a minute of staring at each other in realisation of what just happened.

We couldn't control out laughter as it echoed throughout the corridors. Somehow deep inside, I knew this was going to be a great year.
