With you

Chapter 8

After Shoji and I finished with my apartment he said goodbye and left.

I ran into my newly furnished room and threw on a green plaid shirt and a black pair of trousers. I grabbed my bag and ran out the house to meet Ochako. 

I walked to the café. Not a very good idea. It took me ages to get there. But it seemed like Ochako was late too. I sat down in a seat close to the window and waited. The waitress came over to take my order but I said I was waiting for someone.

I pulled out my phone and dialled Ochako's number.

Ring ring

Ring ring

Ring- "Hello?"

"Hey, I'm at the café now."

"Really? Where I don't see you."

"Did you mean to go to that small cafe in town?"

Boop boop boop

Did she hang up on me?

Oh well. Might as well just get a coffee and leave. I ordered a latte, thanked the waitress and stood outside. 

I waited a full 2 hours and she didn't show up. She didn't even attempt to call me back. 

3 hours. I sat inside the café and continued waiting. The waitress has offered me about 10 drinks by now.

4 hours. "Usually the guy is the one who leaves the girl waiting. This is highly unusual." The waitress was whispering to the lady at the till. I could tell she didn't want me to hear so I pretended I didn't.

 5 hours. I left. I couldn't wait any longer. Sorry Ochako. I went back to my apartment and texted her. Telling her that I waited for 5 hours and she didn't show. So I went home.

Why didn't she show? Did she trick me? Was this all just a big joke to her? What happened? I was so frustrated. 

Ochako. Where were you?

"Yes master. I know. I will do it. It should be easy as pie."

I walked up to the person standing on the sidewalk outside that small coffee shop. That lovesick smile. Makes me sick. I can fix it.
