Welcome back my lovely readers to my annual event that everyone anticipates. Thats right. Anime review!! Exams are over and I have a week off. So what better thing to do than reminisce on the good and bad anime of 2019. And no, we do not talk about it being almost two months into the new year. But hey, happy new year all my weebs. (Funny thing guys, I finished most of this chapter in February and totally forgot about it so......yeah...... I'm not going to change this opening :))

Last year, I can confidently say, was the best year for anime. It had so many new action/ romance packed shows and I loved it. I had an anime to watch nearly everyday. But before I talk about the best and worst anime of the year, I just want to talk about the funamation anime of the decade post. I, personally, don't think Demon Slayer deserves it. Oh My God! Scandalous! Was it good? Yes but I don't think it deserves that title. But thats my two cents. Enough of my controversial opinion, lets get into this

Best anime of 2019I can proudly say that Carole and Tuesday was definitely one of them

Best anime of 2019
I can proudly say that Carole and Tuesday was definitely one of them. I, of course, have others who share this title but I already have some unfinished chapters on them (Shield Hero, Demon Slayer and Hoshia no Sora). Maybe one day I'll finish them :). By the way I will be making this very vague so I don't try and spoil this master piece.

If you are wondering why I chose this one, its because this music anime sang to my heart. I would be lying if I said that I don't have a bias towards this show. I always loved musicals or shows that incorporate music/ singing into it so that swayed me. The animation was outstanding in this show. They even animated them performing/ dancing on stage by referencing real people. Many of you may think that nothing but many show would use a still frame or pull a "flashback moment (of previous episodes)" when they perform, but in Carole and Tuesday you can tell the motion of the character and it seems realistic. I really liked how the characters turned out as well as they were very visually appealing when they animated them. I just enjoyed all the characters in general (except Mama but even at the end I felt sorry for her). But the one criticism I have, is the weird ending between Angela and Tao. Like what the heck is this and why was that thrown in?

The first arc plot was pretty generic: protagonists want to become artists (in an technology dominated world), but how they execute this was what made it stand out and make a name in this industry

Now for my favourite part, the music. Ever episode there was a new song and I fucking loved it. I really liked how they used American artist to sing these song, it made the show more unique in my opinion. I loved the message some of them gave out especially the last song. That song brought tears to my eyes. It was so overwhelming beautiful and deep when you heard it. All of their voices just made the song much more powerful when asked "mother" to free them from their chains and to aid them through their lives. I could get into my feelings about this song and all that but I won't . All I will say is to look at Carole and Tuesday. Its amazing.

Overall, the carefully constructed character development/design/ music, and the general environment they lived in, very much factored into my decision making

Overall, the carefully constructed character development/design/ music, and the general environment they lived in, very much factored into my decision making. Everything in their world made sense (except the Angela and Tao situation) and we all know how hard that is to find in some shows.

Best sequel anime of 2019
Honestly, it was pretty bare with continuing series or sequels last year. We had One Punch Man, that was okay, but I think Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia was the best. I don't know whether you'll call it a continuing series or not but for the purpose of my fan girl over this show, we will.

I always enjoyed Fate series because of two reasons. One; the animation and two; the servents. The animation in Fate: Grand Order was no exception. They provide well choreographed fight sequences and trilling fight scenes. Everything just flowed together and I loved it. I always loved reading behind the lure/ legends behind each servant and how they may or may not be connected. This series was no exception.

I honestly cannot truly explain much about this show but I was truly impressed with their incorporation with their abilities

I honestly cannot truly explain much about this show but I was truly impressed with their incorporation with their abilities. In many shows they might just use a famous figure but not really incorporate their abilities from their stories but Fate never does that. They always attempt to match their abilities with the characters. If you look up the legend between Gilgamesh and Ishtar you will find out that Ishtar wanted to marry Gilgamesh but he refused, that explains why they both behaved like that when talking about each other. I really do encourage you to read each characters lure.
The opening and ending songs were forgettable in my opinion because the animation and the show but all I remember is that it is very pretty. I also feel like the BGM complimented the show nicely, matching perfectly to what is visually shown.

Now I think that's good enough for this first part. The next part I will discuss the worst anime and best boi and girl (yes i added a new section, sue me). See you soon.

(Ps watch Bungou stary dog it is also a very good show)
