Coming home

It's been a week since Amelia had the baby everyone had seen her Meredith and maggie and the kids came Leo got to hold her and Owen and teddy came to visit but it was just tired amelia and link tonight the baby never really slept during the night link and amelia tried to trade off as much as possible but amelia was breastfeeding so she usually had to get up anyways they were both sleep-deprived but they loved their baby and they were great parents. They decided to name her Aubrey D Shepard Lincoln.

It was 1:00 am and amelia was sleeping link was to but then Aubrey started to cry amelia had just fallen asleep so link got up and went to go get her he took her out of the bedroom because he did not want her to wake up amelia he went out to the kitchen and got a bottle tried to get her back to sleep well laying on the couch but she was wide awake he really needed sleep but he knew amelia needed it more so he turned on the tv and just sat on the couch and held her finally at 4:00 am she fell back on links chest he was too tired to move so he slept there with her all night.

Amelia-POV I woke up and link was not there I also was not tired for the first time in it felt like forever she got up and went to the living room to find the loves of my life sleeping right on the couch Aubrey was just snuggled up on links chest they looked so perfect I could tell they were both starting to wake up so I took Aubrey off his chest and let him get up I could tell he definitely did not get as much sleep as me he told how long she was awake for at this moment I could not be more grateful for this little family I have.

2 weeks later ...Link-POV today is my first day back and don't get me wrong I will miss amelia and the Aubrey but I really do miss surgery and I know that amelia doesn't want me to leave but my paternity leave is over and I have to go back sometime. My shift started at 8:00 am it was 6:00 am but the baby was wide awake I only slept for 3 hours last night but at this point, I'm very used to not getting any sleep at all I mean don't get me wrong, I'm still so tired but used to it. I kissed amelia and Aubrey goodbye and headed out the door.

Amelia-POV Link's first day back was today I'm definitely not happy that he was leaving but he had to go back. Don't get me wrong I love my daughter but baby, in general, get kind of boring so I decided to but her in her stroller and pack a diaper bag and head to the hospital not to work but to see link and my doctor told me to get up and move to take some laps and a bonus I won't be bored anymore! When I get there I see link he looks confused I can tell he's worried but then I tell him why I'm here after that we go to lunch watch some surgeries but after that Aubrey started to get really fussy so I decided that we should head home links shift was done for another 2 hours so we went home without him. When I got back, I put the baby to sleep and turned on my new favorite show I've been
watching a lot of TVs since I went on maternity leave I have 1 week left and to be honest I'm counting down the Minutes.

Link just got off his shift he walks in the door to his house and sees amelia sleeping on the couch he walked over to her quietly and kissed her on the head and covered her with a blanket and walked over to the bathroom and changed and took a shower right after he was done he could hear the baby crying he went and picked her up then went to go sit on the couch with amelia and turned on some football the baby eventually fell asleep and so did link they all slept there all night.
