Chapter Five - "The Closer We Are"

*(Y/N)'s POV*

After the school day had ended, I was ready to head home with Tae.

However, as I exited the school gates, I heard my name being called.

"(Y/N)! Hey!" 

It was Pareo again.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. "You don't come to Hanasakigawa or Haneoka."

"True. But Haneoka has a middle school branch. So after class, I rushed over here!"

Rushed? I mean, I don't walk fast at all, so coming at normal speed would be enough...

"Anyway, I came to tell you that Hanazono has something special for you!" Pareo smiled.

"Special? Hanazono?"

"A concert at CiRCLE! It was actually a pain. We had to beg poor Marina… Hanazono asked me around 11 at night…"

"Huh? She asked you, Pareo?"

"Yeah! She knows my band and I. Layer and her were best buddies all the way back."

"Is that so? That sounds like Tae. Silly as always. Come on, let's go to the live house."

*Tae's POV*

I'm at the live house with Raise a Suilen.

I feel bad for bothering Pareo, but I wasn't just practicing for nothing.

We're not going to perform as a band, but I decided to invite them over to watch anyway.

I noticed to my side, near one of the rooms, was ChuChu talking to Yukina-san.

"No. And a thousand times no."

ChuChu stomped her foot in anger.
"Always no," she shouted. "Just watch! I'm taking you all down!"

"We've been through this before," Yukina-san said to her in a serious tone. 
"You are much too childish and rowdy. Not to mention, Roselia will not be needing a manager. You are but an obstacle in our way to Future World Fes."
Yukina-san walked away with not another word. She's cool when she does that. But I could never.

"It's OK," I told ChuChu. "Maybe one day."

"Hmph!" 

She pouted, and she walked away. She sat at a table alone near Masking.
Masking wasn't sitting on a chair, she was squatting near a table. I guess her kind does that.

"'Sup, Chu," Masking said, voice sounding bored. "How ya doing?"

"Just fine," she replied. "And sit right, King. That looks like it hurts."

"It doesn't hurt as much as getting turned down by Roselia several times," Masking sneakily said under her breath. Luckily ChuChu didn't hear it.

At that moment, (Y/N) walked in with Pareo.

"Tae!" (Y/N) shouted. "You're here!"

"(Y/N)'s a nice girl," Pareo spoke. "Watch out, Hanazono, or I might swoop in and steal her!"

Pareo laughed. She quickly stopped after no one else seemed to laugh along with her.

"Ehehe… I kid, I kid." Pareo walked up to ChuChu.

"Master!" She said. "I have brought the chicken to the henhouse!"

"Thank you. And no more code names. Where's Layer? Or my jerky?!"

"Hey," Layer said, as if on cue, finishing talking to someone. "Present!"

"You're gonna go onstage! Hanazono! You go on!"

(Y/N) looked confused. "What about you guys? You going on too?"

"It was a clever plan," Pareo said. "We never practiced. This is all for you, (Y/N), and Hanazono."

"Pareo, you lied to me!" (Y/N) said.

"Aaagh! No! It wasn't a lie! I hate lying!" Pareo apologized.

Says the one who lied to get in Kokoro's house for some hamburg steak…

…

I stood onstage with (Y/N) as my only viewer.

Raise a Suilen stood at the back of the room, watching.

I practiced this song for a while, although recently, I was slacking.

With (Y/N)'s full, undivided attention, her eyes locked onto me, full of excitement and awe, I began to sing while playing my guitar.

Shine! Hanazono Electric Guitar! Fly!

I want to echo out a melody that can break the galaxy

Welcome to Hanazono Land!

Don't think, Feel! Let go of hesitation!

Nibbling or sprinkling salt on red bean buns

Which one? Which one? I can't decide

Because I want to make a wonder paradise

From now on I'll take you along. Let's go!

As I ended the last lyrics of the song, I noticed (Y/N) was the first to clap, then the others.

"Master, you liked that a lot, I guess. You're smiling!" Pareo told ChuChu.

"No, I am not! Go get me some jerky now… please!" ChuChu ordered her.

"As you wish," Pareo replied as she ran off. "Jerky coming up!"

The rest of us just stared and laughed. An interesting relationship they've got going…

(Y/N) hugged me. I could've sworn she was watching me from the crowd, so she scared me a bit.

"Your singing was so great!" (Y/N) told me. "And your guitar playing was spot-on!"

I enjoyed her embrace. No one can make me as happy as (Y/N) does.
...Well, maybe hamburg steaks and my band. They make me happy, too.

With (Y/N), I can totally enjoy myself, and have fun with her every day.

That includes playing with my rabbits again and having more unexpected sleepovers!

So maybe my Hanazono Land is actually (Y/N)'s house!

Just then, Hagumi and Kokoro stormed in at that moment.

"We heard your song all the way out there!" Kokoro exclaimed. "It made us feel happy, lucky, smile, yay! Right, Hagumi-chan?"

"Yeah! Another party at your house to celebrate?"

"Sounds great! You can never have too many happy, happy parties!"

"Party, huh?" ChuChu said in an oddly devious tone. "Let's go. I heard there's cake at parties."

Everyone began to leave, but (Y/N) and I were still hugging.

In front of everyone, we shared a kiss. I didn't feel embarrassed or shy.

It's (Y/N) I'm with, and with her…

...things will be alright in Hanazono Land.

And so, that's the end of the five main bands.
I wanted to do Raise a Suilen next, but because Season 3 just came out, it looks like that will focus on them.

I want to know more about them, so I'll hold off for that fanfiction.

For now, I will choose any member from any band until Season 3 is done. So basically, anything goes!

I already have one girl in mind. Stay tuned!
