OH MY GOSH!! THREE CHAPTERS IN ONE DAY!! Mission accomplished, Cloudfeather! (Fyi cats at top r Treefur and Mossclaw) Alright so, we're back to Mossclaw's answer. Its Mossclaw's POV cause I like doing POVs. The moment you've all been waiting for...

"Mossclaw- I wanted to know if if you'd be my mate?" Barkfur asked.

"I..." my thoughts swirled as I thought about Treefur. It was probably a one-time thing I decided. He would probably be on with his life and would have a mate in Shadowclan. We can't be together. I must do what's right for me. "Yes, Barkfur, I'll be your mate." I wanted to pep it up and said, "I thought you'd never asked." I'm playing the she-cat love card. I purred. He purred too, it was obvious he loved me and that he was glad that I loved him.

We padded back to camp, tail-in-tail. Many cats looked over at us and they smiled. Most of them knew I would end up with Barkfur. We had been best friends as kits, but when we became apprentices, he ceased talking to me. I never realized it was cause he liked me. I was glad I was able to accept that I have my life and Treefur has his. Rainstar motioned to me from where he was sitting on the rock and I broke away from Barkfur and padded up.

"Yes, Rainstar?" I asked my leader curiously.

"I am on my last life," he told me. I gasped. I thought he had three! He continued, "I want you to support Barkfur. Right before I die I'm going to tell him the truth." I looked at him quizzically. "I'm Barkfur's, real father.  When Nightriver told me she was close kitting, I panicked. I told her I wasn't ready, and I said I would no longer share a piece of a fresh kill her. She hissed and told me that was for the better and that she now loved Addertail. He would be his father." He paused and looked at me, I nodded, letting him know he didn't have to finish this story. But he did.

"They both died in a fire a little before you were born. Barkfur was Barkkit at the time and he was a newborn. During the fire, Addertail and Nightriver were protecting him. She knew they probably wouldn't make it, so she finally told the truth about Barkkit. He became angry and he killed her. He was about to kill Barkkit when I leaped in and saved him, banishing one of our best warriors  in the same process." His mind was sad, as he remembered his mate.

"I will," I responded to my leader. Barkkit only remembered my mother milking us. Every time he asked about his mother and father she would always reply saying, "That story is for another day."

My fish tasted bland as I licked it thoroughly. I had a craving for a vole. My mouth watered as thought about it. My thoughts turned to memory as I remembered Treefur's sweet face and his adorable look when he sorry about crossing the border.

I decided to talk to our medicine cats, Stormleaf and Roseshine. I padded into the den my paws hurting.

"Mossclaw? Why are you here?" Roseshine asked in surprise when I round the corner, into her eyesight, "Do you need anything? Stormleaf went looking for catmint. He wants to stock up before the cold sets in."

"I don't really feel good," I responded. She looked at me, eyebrow going up in surprise then lowering as she came up with an idea but she needed proof. She turned back to sorting through the herbs as she asked me questions.

"Any weird cravings?"

"Why yes actually. I've been craving vole after one from Shadowclan wandered over here and I caught it."

"How long ago was this?" I thought about it. It was about a half moon since I had seen Treefur so, "About a half-moon." She nodded deep in thought.

"Do your paws hurt?"

"Yes."

"I know why you're not feeling good," she paused and looked at me, then continued, "Your pregnant." I can't believe she could simply just state that.

"Your half a moon along, and you should be in the nursery already. How are you telling Barkfur?" I didn't reply, only one thought kept spinning through my head. I'm carrying Treefur's kits! My shock filled me and I started pacing.

Roseshine twitched in amusement, "You be fine. Every mother feels like this." I nodded calming down a little. I didn't want to lie as Nightriver had to Addertail.

"Barkfur?" I asked he turned to look at me my face soften and I could see the love in his eyes. "Let's go for a walk." He complied and followed me out of camp.

I sat beside a trickling little river and purred, "Leaf bare will be here soon." He nodded. I could feel his curiosity flowing off him.

"I'm pregnant," I said bluntly. His surprise soon turned joy. He jumped up like an eager kit. I liked seeing him so happy, but I couldn't lie to him and make the same mistake as Nightriver. His joy faded as he saw my face.

"What's wrong?" his face softened towards me, his mate.

"They're not yours!" I cried. My tears falling down into the river.

"You don't have to tell me who they belong to, Mossclaw. I will love them as if they were my own."

"Oh thank you Barkfur!" I cried more and leaned into Barkfur. I was right to make the choice of Barkfur. I was glad for his confidence, and for a moment it felt as if Treefur hadn't been in my life.
