Chapter 15

15 2 1

Hey, readers! I know this is only 15 chapters so far, so I going to make this book end soon so that we can get on to BOOK 2. I want it to go to Chapter 20 before it potentially ends. It might go longer. I wanted to let you know that way you can keep a lookout for BOOK 2. So carry on with reading Chapter 15. =)

I licked my belly. It was just starting to show. I had already moved to the nursery. It had been my first night. I had watched Blizzardtail come back. I was excited to talk to my brother and ask him what had happened, but he was deep in thought and he didn't hear me and Ravenstripe calling after him.

Mossykit wasn't asleep yet, so while Ravenstripe and I were calling, she snuck out and followed her father to the warrior den. Blizzardtail had laid down in his nest. Mossykit had carefully avoided all the warriors. As soon as she was close enough, she got ready to pounce.

Ok, so this doesn't look like Mossykit but it makes me think of her when she's getting ready to pounce on her father xD Proceed with butt wiggle Mossykit

She leaped. Blizzardtail jumped up. The other warriors in the den turned to look at him. They started to laugh when they saw what scared him.

"Mossykit!" He shouted. His fur was fluffed up from being scared and being embarrassed. Giving himself a few self-conscious licks on his chest, he picked up the kit and carried her back to the nursery.

"Mossykit?" Ravenstripe had started counting her kits and Mossykit wasn't there. Blizzardtail walked in with a mischievous kit.

"Mossykit!" Blizzardtail put her down.

"Why were you outside?"

"You were calling Blizzardtail, so I decided to get him." I smirked. I had down the same thing when I was a kit.

"So that was the fearful yowl I heard. I knew Mossykit had gone out, I thought she went to the dirtplace. I had no clue she was pulling the same prank I pulled on Redfoot," I told them.

"You were calling me?" Blizzardtail looked at us. He had not heard.

"Yes, we were. We wanted to know what happened at the gathering."

"Oh." He looked downcast. "Ravenstripe? How about you put Mossykit to bed while I talk to Mossclaw." Ravenstripe looked confused but she did what was asked anyway.

"Treefur spoke to me." My heart raced. Oh, I missed Treefur. What did he want? Blizzardtail continued.

"He wanted to know where you were. I simply said you moved to the nursery and that you were carrying Barkfur's kits." My heart lurched. Only Barkfur knew that they weren't his. If only I could tell Treefur.

"His pelt bristled when I said this though. He still loves you. He... he told me to tell you, it. I was too busy on whether or not to tell you. I didn't want it to bring heartache to you." By now Ravenstripe had come back and she was listening to everything.

"Thank you for telling me Blizzardtail," I responded. He left and went back to his den, but before he left he said, "Make sure no kits come after me!" We chuckled.

"You have some explaining to do Mossclaw," Ravenstripe said when he was out of sight.

"Uh-?"

"Spill."

I quickly told the story and came to an end. Time to say the last bit.

"These kits aren't Barkfur's," I licked my belly, and Ravenstripe looked shocked.

"Then whose are they?" She clearly hadn't gotten the message when I said I had been seeing a Shadowclan warrior. The deputy!

"They're Treefur's."

"Oh my. Does Barkfur know?"

"Yes. I didn't want him living in the dark. He promised to love the kits as if they were his."

"Aww."

"Let's get some sleep," I told her, a little annoyed at her cuteness at me and Barkfur.
