The beauty's sitting on the same table she sat on the other day. She looks really heartbroken again.
I approach her and luckily, I don't feel electrocuted or see visions. This is finally my chance to talk to her.
As I near the table, she seems to have gotten a headache. No, not like this again I thought.
"You ok there?"
"Yeah, I'm alright." Her headache seems to have left.
"Mind if I sit here?"
"No, not at all."
"I'm Agenos, by the way."
"I'm Kayria, Nice to meet you." she blushed a little. She looked so sweet.
"So... I saw you the other day and you looked pretty sad. Why was that?"
"Oh, it was nothing really... I just missed my old classmates" she said, tears welling up in her eyes. "They were my friends for who knows how long. I've been in my previous school for, pretty much my whole life-- It was really hard to let it go..."
"I understand..."
"I know being here in Metropolis Sci Hi is a great opportunity but sometimes, I wish I never transferred." Tears rolled down her cheeks and somehow, I felt hurt too.
"It's gonna be alright. Transferring was hard for me too; leaving my friends and all but hey, everyone's gotta move on."
"Yeah I guess you're right." said Kayria, wiping off the tears on her face.
"Do you have any friends here already?"
"No, not yet. I've been trying to, but everyone seemed to have their own exclusive little worlds."
"Really? With that pretty face of yours, I thought you were one of the populars around here." She just laughed and blushed again. "Hmmm... May I have the honor of being your first?"
"Be my guest." Those three simple words shot at me like fireworks. Explosively beautiful.
"I do get what you're feeling right now; my dad passed away when I was little... My mom's the only family I got now."
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that." She puts her hand on my wrist and the shocks come back again. The painful electrocution hits me like a thousand twinges inside of me. I scream a silent yell.
I see the visions again-- the sun mark, glowing so bright, my grandfather on the sea-facing cliff, fighting the fire elemental, and the flame that knocks him down.
"I hear my grandpa's voice in my head, "No Agenos, no". I think back to him, "What do you mean?" I hear no voices in reply and I snap back to reality. Everything turns back to normal.
"Agenos! Are you ok? What happened to you? Did I do anything wrong?"
"No, it's ok, just a really painful ant bite..."
More like a million really painful ant bites.
