Chapter 12

Bill's POV
We are all sitting outside of the waiting room, nervous about why Izzy collapsed and fainted on her bed. Mike is really stressed, bouncing his leg up and down so I try and comfort him.

"Y-You ok, Mike?" I ask him as I place a hand on his shoulder.

"Just peachy" he replied sarcastically.

"Ok, I-I know you are going through s-s-something but this isn't not g-gonna help Izzy in a-anyway" I tell him, trying not to stutter.

"What do you mean?" He asks.

"Don't you r-remember? S-Soulmates can feel what you f-feel. They can feel your e-emotions" I say, trying to jog his memory. Suddenly, a realisation look hit Mike in the face.

"Why does Mike look like that?" Beverly asks, walking over to us, pointing at Mike.

"I-I don't know. I j-j-just said that soulmates can f-feel your e-emotions" I say, furrowing my eyebrows.

"And that's why Izzy is hurt" Mike said, placing his head in his hands.

"What do you mean, Mike?" Beverly says, folding her arms over her chest.

"Don't you remember?" He says.

"N-No" I say, confused.

"She has Broken Heart Syndrome! Her heart felt like it was tearing because I couldn't stand the thought of her not remembering me! Of her never being with me again, of never loving me again...." Mike says, whispering the last part.

"Care to explain what you just said?" Beverly said, almost offended.

"Before Izzy became unconscious she spoke to me as if it was her last time. She said 'I love you' but closed her eyes again before she could hear me say it back, she doesn't and never will know that I love her" He says, tears forming in his eyes.

"Mike..." Beverly said, going to hug Mike.

"Stop! I don't want affection, I just want Izzy" he said as a tear slipped down his cheek. I was about to comfort him when Nurse McCall walked out the room.

"Izzy collapsed and fainted because all the memories of things she had forgotten came rushing back to her head. They were rushing back so quickly that it caused her brain to go into overload and shut down causing her to faint. She is in a deep sleep, trying to rest and ease the pain" she informed us.

"Does that mean she remembers me?" Mike asked hopefully.

"Maybe" Nurse McCall told us.

"Can we see her?" Ruby asks.

"Yes, but don't crowd around her, she needs space to breathe and if she wakes up, don't throw lots of questions at her" she said before walking away.

"Let's go then! What are we waiting for?" Mike said with a smile, rushing to open the door but failing and ended up running into it because he was too excited.

"Mike, you have to turn the handle and push" Stanley said, demonstrating how to push open a door. Ruby just looks at him, smiling widely, but trying to hide it once he looks back at her and catches her looking at him.

"Oh, right" Mike said before turning the handle and pushing the door open, running inside almost falling over his feet.

"Well someone is excited" Ben said before I walked in after Mike.

I walked over to Grace and placed a soft kiss on her forehead

"Hi" I said softly, a smile on my face.

"Hey," she whispered back, "what's the time? It seems like the day has dragged" she said, a frown slightly taking over her face.

"I know i-it's not b-been the best d-day ever but at least we h-have each other" I say.
