Chapter 16

*massive time skip*
*end of school year*

Izzy's POV

We were in class, all the girls, and we were all spread out across the room. It was the last day of school and we were all excited as it was also the last class of the day.

10 minutes. Just 10 more minutes and school would finally be over. Escaping from hell for just a month, it should be like, a years break though, every student can agree with me. I look around the room and I spot Grace, almost as if she can sense me looking, she turns around and looks at me.

"I'm so bored" I mouth to her.

"Same, I just wanna see Bill" she mouths back, blushing at the thought.

"Lets all go to the ice cream shop after, we can all enjoy our start to summer then" I suggest. She nods and turns back around to face the teacher.

5 minutes. Oh my god, 5 more minutes and we are done. The time seems to go bye so slowly, I feel as if the lesson is sucking the life out of me. I look around the room and spot Bev. She looks bored out of her mind and she plays with her pen, drawing random things on her notebook. I look around more and see Ruby, she seems to be deep in thought and writing something down in a notebook, looks important. I look back at Grace and see that she banged her head against the table and quickly sits up, rubbing her now red forehead. I laugh and the whole class looks at me.

"What?" I glare at them and they all then turn back around.

30 seconds. Just a few more seconds and we are free. I'm so excited. I start to get my things ready, as does everyone else.

"Uh, did I say you could pack away?" The teacher says, hands on her hips.

"No, but the bell did" Grace said. I look at her as if to say 'are you dumb?'

"Uh huh, and when did it tell you that Miss Curtis?" The teacher says back, pushing up her thick glasses.

"Just now" she smirks as the bell rang and everyone ran out of the room.

We all leave and the girls and I walk towards the bike rack. We get there quite early so we wait for the boys.

"I'm so excited" Grace says, jumping up and down.

"You look like you are about to explode" Ruby says.

"Well Rubith, I probably am" Grace says. We just laugh at her.

"Rubith? That's your full name? That's gotta suck" Beverly says.

"No, it's a nickname she calls me, it's not fun, but eh, she's not gonna stop so she might as well call me that" Ruby shrugs. I look over towards the doors and see the boys coming, I see Richie and Eddie holding hands very slyly and I smirk towards them. Richie looks up at me and sees that I have spotted them holding hands so he wiggles his eyebrows at me. I just laugh in return. I think Grace spotted Bill because she immediately ran towards him and jumped onto him, wrapping her legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders.

"Hi Billy, I missed you" She squeals, placing her head in the crook of his neck.

"I missed you too, but it's been an hour" he chuckles, holding onto her tighter as he walked towards us.

"An hour too long" she whines, still holding on to him.

"I think if he is gonna breathe you should let him go" Stanley says, rolling his eyes.

"Or she can just kill him by squeezing him to death" I hear a very familiar voice say from behind us. We all turn around and see Mike there.

"Mike" I smile widely and hug him normally, my arms going around his neck as his go around my waist. We hug for about a minute before we pull away and he kisses my forehead. He lets go of me and keeps a hold of my hand and then we turn back to face the others. Grace is finally off of Bill and is resting her head on his shoulder. Ruby is talking to Stan and I hear them say 'I love you' to each other and I start to smile. It's gross, but I can deal with it for now.

"Hey guys, do you wanna go to the ice cream shop?" I ask, they all nod and we go there. Once we get there everyone gets their favourite flavour. Bill got rocky road and Grace got salted caramel, Ben got chocolate and Bev got cherry, Stan got cookie dough and Ruby got strawberry, Richie got salted caramel as well and Eddie got vanilla, Mike got coconut and I got bubblegum.

Once we got our ice creams we all left and went to the park to enjoy it. We were sitting in the field all in a circle and it was just a great way to spend the day.

Bill's POV

As we are all sitting in a circle, enjoying our ice creams, Richie decides to get bits of his ice cream and throw it at all of us.

"Richie! Do you know how many germs that has? Do you know what type of diseases we could get from that?!" Eddie screams at Richie, but Richie just replies with a laugh.

"Let loose Eddie, stop worrying about germs" Richie says before throwing some more ice cream at him. Bev smirks and starts to throw ice cream as well. We all get up and start running about smiles on our faces, throwing ice cream everywhere at each other.

This is it. This is the end. No one had to die for us to all live happily ever after, except nothing is perfect about this. We are just a bunch of losers having an ice cream fight in the park. I take a step back and look at everyone, the smiles very clear on their faces. Everyone deserves to be happy, and we got our chance. I'm glad that we survived the horrors of Derry, maybe there is more to come, who knows? But for now, at least we have taken back our town, back our lives, back our souls. For we are all Soulmates.
