"Luke, wake up." Ashton said, giving Luke a quick shake. He sat up, running his left hand through his messy quiff while still clutching your hand in his right.

"What time is it?" He asked groggily, trying to focus on the drummer in front of him.

"It's almost eight, mate. You've been here for days, go home, take a shower, and get some rest. The boys and I will let you know if anything changes."

"She needs me, Ash. I can't just leave her." He looked back to you, watching your chest rise and fall as you slept.

"Dude, you look like shit. You need some rest." Ash was right. Luke tried to argue, but the dark circles under his eyes begged to differ. He'd been wearing the same skinny jeans and plaid flannel for two days and was in desperate need of a shower. "Cal will drive you. You're in no shape to be behind the wheel."

"Just for a few hours. Then I'll be back."

"Just go. Michael and I will watch her." Luke leaned over and pressed a light kiss to your temple, whispering a quick, "I love you," before heading towards the doorway.

"Call me the second anything changes." Ashton gave him a nod, before nearly pushing him out the doorway and into the hall.

Luke hated leaving you in general, but especially in your current state. Three days ago you had been in a car accident leaving work. It wasn't your fault. Another car ran the red light just after you pulled out into the intersection. A SUV had T-boned your car from the passenger side, causing you to end up three lanes over. The intersection was a mess with cars crashing into each other, most of them with slight bumper damage, or smashing a few headlights. That is except your car and the SUV. Luckily, you hadn't picked up your daughter, Emma, from pre-school yet. If so, she might not have made it. You'd managed to come out of the accident with only a few broken bones, but also a pretty nasty head injury.

Luke had been on tour in Europe at the time of your accident, and didn't know about it until he got a call from his mom. She'd been called to pick up Emma after the school couldn't get a hold of you. The hospital later called her, explaining the situation. After receiving the news she immediately dialed Luke's number, calling him until he was finally able to answer the phone.

His heart broke hearing the news. They were just about to go on stage when he answered. He went weak at the knees, nearly falling down as he clutched the phone. "Is she okay? Please tell me she's okay? Was Emma with her? Is she okay? I can't lose them? Please mom, tell me they're okay!" He began asking frantically as he choked back tears, begging not to hear the worst possible news.

The boys immediately called off the show, apologizing to the fans every other sentence. They understood, though. The fans loved you, and knew that if they boys were cancelling a show, it had to be extremely important.

Before the night was up, the boys had all gotten ticket and were on the next flight home to see you. They were still in their show clothes, seeing as they left everything that wasn't a necessity back on the tour bus. Luke stayed awake the entire flight, unable to sleep for a minute. As soon as the flight attendant said it was okay to have phones out, he was calling Liz for any updates on your condition, hoping to hear good news. Instead all he would hear is, "She's still in surgery," but that didn't keep him from calling every hour, until her heard something different. He breathed a sigh of relief when you got out of surgery, but his heart dropped again when he heard you hadn't woken up yet.

He'd been the first off the plane, the first to baggage claim, and the first person to spot Ashton's fiancé, Sophie, at the gate. There was no time to catch up, no time for 'I missed you,' or 'tell me about tour.' She quickly kissed Ashton, telling him they'd catch up later at home, and drove the five of them to the hospital as fast as she could. Luke couldn't help but tell her, "Hurry up," or "you could have made that light!" but then apologized after realizing that was actually how you'd gotten into this mess. He just wanted to see you.
