one year ago

katisuki watched as she walked away after lashing out at him, yelling about how he couldn't expect her to feel the same after how he acted towards her—harsh and immature at the fact that she was hanging around izuku—and how she didn't want things to change between them, totally disregarding his feelings.

he thought it was the last time he'd fallen for someone like her, who couldn't value everything he could bring to the table: looks, playfulness, love... the last time he did that was when he (harshly) asked ochaco out in their first year, to which she declined immediately to go on and date
midoriya.

he thought the same thing was going to happen to her. she'd leave him for someone else he hated, like that two-halved kid.

as he watched her walk away, he felt tired. worn out. his heart physically hurt, which he thought was impossible. he just wanted someone to be with; he just wanted her.

and he thought she knew how much he liked her in more than a friendly way, but yet she left him there.

and now his heart was cracked in two.

he could recall when she started losing interest in their friendship; she'd make excuses as to why she was with midoriya's group instead of katsuki's, and why she was hanging out with "deku" and todoroki more than him.

as he walked home, he couldn't help but think about what would happen tomorrow at school. would things be okay? or would she ignore him?

he decided that it'd be the latter. he heard her say her goodbye, and the way she worded it sounded like it'd be goodbye forever. yet, he chose to have hope and a small part of him denied that she'd completely forget about him and that things would be okay.

as his walk progressed he started blaming her. he decided that it was completely her fault that the friendship the two had would be lost. if she had just shut up and accepted his feelings and ignored midoriya, then things would be perfect. he started playing the blame game.

now he would realize that it was both of their faults (hers for being so rude towards him, and his for being so rude towards you and midoriya). he would also realize that games of blame weren't healthy, and that they both were, at the time, immature and not compatible. plus, he had lots of baggage with someone her friends that he (at the time) didn't know how to get over.

___

"i'll shut up, but i just need you to let me have this..!"

the plead left his mouth, but she disregarded it, telling him that she didn't care and to just screw off. she didn't care about his feelings; he hurt her and he hurt her friendship with midoriya, and she was pissed at him.

so, he watched her walk away again, because that was the only thing he could ever do. he knew that he put his heart into the two of them, and he was the one to crack it in two.
