the first thing katsuki done when he got back to the dorms was check his phone. kaminari wouldn't stop bothering him the whole day, saying that he would "kick his ass" if he didn't.

as soon as he read the last notifications, his heart simultaneously dropped and rose at the same time.
what could she want? he pondered to himself, unlocking his phone as quickly as he could and staring at her contact, an notification bubble underneath her name reading "1 new voicemail" meaning it was from her.
before he pressed the bubble to check his voicemail, his eyes flicked to her contact name. he forgot all about it since the last time he'd been close to calling her, begging for her forgiveness, which was so out of character for him that he never ended up doing it.
he wasn't even the one who had put the heart there, mina was. he just... hadn't had the heart to delete it.
finally he rang up his voicemail, entering his passcode before the automated voice announced he had a new voice message from 11:34am.
