Jeremy arrived later that evening with his things. He was also going to be staying in dad's house with me. I really needed his presence in the house because the house was too big for only me to stay.
"Hey birdie, can I come in" he knocked on my door.
"Yes" I answered softly
He pushed the door open and he entered. On his hands was a tray of toasted bread with jam by the side and a hot cup of tea.
"I brought you dinner birdie"he said as he dropped the tray on the table beside my bed.
I just stared out the window and felt the bed sink beside me."Hey birdie,You need to eat. You can't live if u don't".
I burst out crying "I don't wanna live,I just wanna die".
"Hey don't say that"he held both my hands giving it a light squeeze.
"Why didn't I listen when you called me back.If I had it won't have happen,I wouldn't h..a...."I cried.
"Shhhuuu" pulling me into a hug he stroked my hair gently "it wasn't your fault birdie. You can't let that ruin you. You have to fight. You're strong birdie, I know you are."he pulled away and held my face in his palms wiping my tears away.
"You'll be fine. I promise"he reassured giving me a kiss on the forehead and a light smile.
Jeremy is the biggest player there is out there. He is just the regular high school team captain that sleeps around with all the girls and claims to be all high and mighty. Yes he doesn't have a girlfriend and he keeps saying "Relationship is shit", but I know deep down he wants to have a serious relationship.
He sleeps around with girls but makes sure they know he isn't in for a relationship and If they agree then they're down for business..
Whatever, he isn't a full-time fuckboy like he says.
Is there even anything like a full-time or part-time fuckboy.. If you sleep around you are a fuckboy but he says "If you let them know what they're in for before you get into action then you aren't as bad as the rest of them"
How dumb does that sound??
Although being the captain of the basketball team could be really hard on him sometimes. There are days where he would practice late at school and won't get home till mid-night, where he would run for two hours before getting ready for school and stay up late studying.
He has been the point guard since he was a sophomore and things have been going great for him till mom and dad divorce.
Although he acts all strong around me, I know he was just as affected as I was because of the divorce and I think it really affected him more than it did me. I mean, I was just sad that we won't be a happy family like we used to but Jeremy's was different.
His grades drop drastically in school and he lost focus in training which made the team lost in the final game of the session and to say their coach was mad is the understatement of the year.
He was furious. He had been training them for the game since the beginning of the semester and Jeremy just made all their nights of training go down the drain because of a personal issue. He told Jeremy that if he didn't get better before trainings for senior year began then he'll kick him out of the team.
Jeremy loved basketball. Heck, basketball is his life. He's so sure that he wants to be a future NBA basketball player and a blow by getting kicked out of the team in high school would really mess with the future he already planned.
"I'm gonna be right here by your side"
"Thank you Jerr" I said holding back tears. He pulled me in for a short hug before pulling away.
"Eat your food" he commanded playfully.
I nodded smiling a little so he got up and left for the door.
Getting to the door he stopped and turned back to me.
"Birdie, I'm sorry for not being there when you needed me the most"he said, his eyes pleading.
I nodded indicating it was fine and then he left the room..
Was I really fine?
I wasn't really hungry so I just laid on my bed and cried.
Will I ever be okay?
I thought hard before finally falling asleep.
