They reached their room, and Dec let Ali enter first and she led him over to the bed, "shall we open each other's letters Deccy?"

"I think that's a good idea Al. Not sure how much of a fit state I am to read it clearly in, but I've been looking forward to you reading mine all day."

"As have I Declan, I can't wait." Ali gave Dec her letter first, letting Dec read it.

'To my darling husband Declan Joseph Oliver Donnelly, the day has finally come. We're married, how incredible is that. When I first saw you, there was an instant attraction there and then that I hoped you would feel. I knew you were with Clare and that I had to keep my feelings purely platonic and made sure we stayed as friends, but I couldn't keep myself away from you. If for some reason you didn't have Ant, I always made sure I was the next shoulder to cry on. It hurt having to listen to you talk about her and the scandal that broke out, but I always made sure I was there for you so we could spend as much time together. We then tried to date for a while, and I blame myself for us not working out the first time. I first thought that my feelings were because I was your manager, and I was too focussed on work rather than us. Even though it was only a few months, little did I know that they would be the best of my life so far. But you soon got into another relationship and that broke my heart, but I knew what we had would come back so I held out for you. You were the only one for me Declan.

These past couple of years have been the best ever, and I'm so thankful that I became your manager and how everything fell into place nicely. I can't thank you enough for everything that you have done, and for being my best friend through it all, because I couldn't have coped without you. I can't wait to start our new life with each other, with our children and of course our beloved Rocky.

I love you.

Forever yours,
Alison Donnelly'

Dec had tears spilling from his eyes and this time didn't want to hold them back. He hugged Ali as tightly as he could, thanking her for everything, even after what they had both been through throughout their careers. Dec wanted to give Ali her letter almost immediately, knowing that everything he wanted to say was truthfully written down.

'To my beloved wife Alison Donnelly. You waltzed your way into my heart immediately and surprisingly. I was going through some troubled times with Clare when we first met, and if Ant way never around, you would always be my next port of call. After everything that happened in those couple of years, all I wanted was for us to give it a go. I understood why it didn't work out, we were both heavily involved in work and I was too immature to want to settle down, even though I knew it was time for me. I will always apologise for it never working out that first time, if it did, our how lives would be completely different. But I can't rewind time and I am eternally grateful to you for waiting out, until it hit me that you really were the only one for me. I'm so sorry for making it take too long, and I can't imagine how you felt before we got together, as I certainly wouldn't have been able to cope if you had found someone else. I took our friendship for granted, thinking that I would always have you by my side, however I never realised how deep my feelings ran for you.

These past few years have made me the happiest man I could ever be. It was all down to you, and I am forever thankful that you entered my life and for helping me through everything. Coming from a large family, I have always wanted a family of my own deep down, and now I know that all I had been waiting for was you. I can't wait to grow out family, whatever size you want I would be happy with. As long as you're happy, I'll be happy.

I love you, Al.

Forever and always yours,
Declan Joseph Oliver Donnelly.'

Both Dec and Ali were in tears, with both of them declaring similar feelings, showing that they were made for each other, "I love you so much Al. I can't believe you're finally mine after all these years."

"I love you too Declan, now how about we fulfill our promise that we made earlier?"

"That sounds perfect, Mrs Donnelly."

And with that, the night lasted until the early hours of the morning, finishing off the perfect day together.

Hope you all enjoyed this story. Like I said at the start, I have sort of got an idea in my head already about how Dec and Ali's relationship came about. I've planned it out the story already, it just depends how many want to read it😂
