Izuku blinks. Sounds of car horns and yelling filled his ears as he struggles to stay up. He lets out a yawn before trying focusing back onto the road, he notices emptiness in front of him, Strange , shouldn’t there be more cars? His eyes widened as he noticed the stoplights signal blaring green, he yelps and hits the gas. Holding up traffic wasn’t the way to start the day right.
A snort and groan from his left causes him to yell out a short ‘Sorry!’ as he merges right, making sure he uses his blinker accordingly.
Mirio shakes his head and rubs his eyes, “Come on man, focus on the roa..d..” He barely finishes his sentence before dozing off again.
“Easy for you to say.” Izuku scoffs, he hated the days where he took the wheel, but how else would they get to work?
“Especially since it's pouring right now..” He mutters to himself, leaning over the steering wheel to peer out into the sky. Rain hitting the windshield in a harsh cacophony. Izuku leans back in his seat and continues his morning commute.
Soon, the duo reach their destination, making sure to take a couple umbrellas with them as they exit their humble, run down coop.
Both Mirio and Izuku smile at the sight of the building in front of them. Even though the rain kept it from shining in all it's glory in front of the sun, the stores giant gold letters plated on it's crown, shouting the words ‘DETROIT SMASH COMICS’ still remained mighty.
The duo enter the store, the front door bell chiming as the two hurriedly shuffle inside. Hanging up their coats in the employee closet and beginning their day.
“Man, it sure is coming down out there huh?” Says a bored Mirio Togata. It had been 3 hours since the store opened up, restocking and cleaning was done, all the duo had left to do was wait for customers.
Izuku was busy cleaning off an action figure on the display shelf, he only let off a hum of agreement as he examined the toy more closely.
“Wonder if it was smart to even open up today, it seems like nobodies in the mood for a pack of Pokemon cards or an All Might figure today.” Mirio continues, moving to block the entrance and gaze at the store him and his best friend own.
He pulled on his collar, the uniform they had to wear was comfortable, but the collar always annoying him in how it dug into his neck. He looked down to his chest and fixed his golden nameplate, brushing himself off before entering his thoughts yet again to think about the store he and his roommate owned.
They had bought out the place four years ago. It used to be a cafe, though when the owner became sick he sold it off to the two young businessmen, or that's what Mirio and Izuku would call themselves.
The two of them were nerds, they liked all the nerdy things. Comics, video games, action figures, there was even a time where Mirio saw himself regretfully falling into the world of My Pretty Pony, a supposed show for 6 year old girls. “ They’re really deep and complex! I swear!” he remembers defending himself after being caught watching the show by his fellow roommate, he promptly dropped the show shortly after. A shiver went up the blondes spine as he remembered the unpleasant situation he put himself in.
