The front door burst open as the two men entered their apartment. “Lock the door and get Eri dried off, she’s shivering.” Mirio explained to Izuku as he hung up the keys and peaked out their window, the view of the street was visible and there seemed to be nobody tailing them as they drove home.
“Right.” Izuku said as he set Eri down onto the couch and knelt down to her, “We’re sorry that that happened, the police are on the way here and they’ll help track down that man okay? You’re safe here.” He smiled and patted the girls head.
Eri was frozen in shock, fear, and relief. She didn’t think whatever was happening was real, she couldn’t believe that after all this time she was free of her father. The words Midoriya spewed had exited out just as quick as they came in, only brought back into reality as his hand connected with her head. It made her realize that she was drenched, she began to shiver.
Mirio paced around the room, chewing his thumbnail as Izuku hurried back with a towel to dry Eri off. He then moved to cradle his wrist, “That punch was nowhere near in form, bruised it bad..” He muttered, ashamed of himself for getting hurt from that.
“It doesn’t matter, you gave us enough time to escape, it was more than enough.” Izuku said while his hands were at work. He huffed, “Her clothes are ruined, do we have any children's clothing?” He asked.
Mirio shook his head, “No, and even if we did, how would we change her?” The blonde replied.
“Right..” The man offered another smile to the little girl, “You’ll just have to wait a little bit longer to get some warmer clothes, is that alright?”
Eri nodded again. She finally took a moment to examine her surroundings, she deducted that she was in the two men's house, it already looked much better than where she lived, but that wasn’t anything to be shocked about.
A few minutes later the three heard a knock on the door, Mirio gasped and rushed over, Izuku had taken his spot sitting next to Eri, the same towel draped round her to at least stop her from shivering.
After taking a precautionary peek out the door-hole, Mirio sighed and opened it up to meet a familiar face.
“Thank you so much for coming,” He sighed in relief, shaking the hand of the front officer. Behind them stood a few more officers and a medic.
“Of course man, I began to worry once I received the notif to come over here, you both alright?” Said the man in a rough voice.
Izuku recognized the voice and was instantly off his feet to meet him. Now face to face with his high-school friend, his worried expression finally eases a little. “Kirishima, yeah, we’re fine, but do we have a story to tell.”
The two explained what had happened, the girl appearing at the shop, the man appearing shortly after, the alleyway, the gun, the escape, everything. Kirishima nodded through it all, taking notes accordingly while another officer and the medic tended to the girl, who’s situation had already been explained to Kirishima.
