Draco walked into the Room of Requirement, throwing down his book bag and falling onto the very comfy couch the room had so kindly provided. After laying there, contemplating how long he should procrastinate for, he finally sat up and got his books out, and began his work. Ever since the Hogsmeade trip that had only happened an hour ago, Blaise and Pansy couldn't seem to find anything else to talk about. And while he honestly didn't mind talking about how great Hermione was, running around the common room chanting "Dramione is real!" when Draco had a Potions essay due the next day was not very helpful.

So, he snuck out here before they could do anything. Unfortunately, those two must've rubbed off on him even more, because now he couldn't stop thinking about her. His heart fluttered at the memory of them in the alley, when she said she liked him and he had almost fainted right on the spot. He still couldn't believe his luck. By now he had given up on the essay, a voice in the back of his mind telling him he'd for sure get it done tomorrow morning as he leaned back into the couch and reminisced. A part of him still didn't understand how fast he had fallen for her, but the fact that she felt at least somewhat the same made him feel all fuzzy inside.

I should talk to her tomorrow, and see where she stands. Maybe...I could ask her out?

Draco smiled at the thought, and began to daydream about possible dates, when suddenly the door slammed. He jumped, turning to see who it was.

"Hermione?"

"Draco?" Her voice sounded timid, as if she was about to break.

Confused, Draco stood up and walked over, and when he saw her his heart shattered. Tears streamed down her face, out of grief-stricken eyes. Her hair was a mess and she was breathing a little hard, as if she had just run here. Her lip trembled slightly, and he could tell she was holding back a sob.

"Is everything okay?" He asked gently. Whatever had happened must've been really terrible, because it took a lot to make Hermione Granger cry.

She let out a sob. "I..." She tried to speak again but instead she broke down, tears now flowing.

This is too much. Who could've hurt her like this?

Draco pulled her into him and wrapped his arms around her, trying to comfort her. "It's okay, just let it all out."

She buried her face into his chest, trying to muffle her sobs. They stood there for a bit, not saying anything. He let his hand go up to stroke her hair, and she seemed to calm down a little. Eventually, she sniffed and lifted her head to look at him.

"C-could we g-go to the couch? It's easier to e-explain t-there."

"Of course." Draco replied, and they went over and sat. He sat on one end, his arm resting on the armrest. (why does that sound so stupid lmao)

"Um...can I...?" Hermione asked quietly, pointing towards him as if asking if she could sit with him.

Draco smiled. "Sure."

She smiled back through her tears and came over, snuggling herself next to him so she had her head on his shoulder and her hands wrapped around his arm. Draco's stomach erupted in butterflies at her touch, and he tried to keep himself from smiling, because this was definitely not the time.

She let out a deep breath. "When I came back to my common room after Hogsmeade, Harry and Ron were there waiting for me. Apparently, someone had told them that they had seen us together, and had seen us holding hands. They asked me about it..."

He gulped. He did not like where this was going.

"And I told them the truth."

Draco looked at her. "You did?"
