I was just getting home from hanging out with bronny. "Dad I'm home" I hollered setting my keys down by the door. I walked into the dining room table seeing him talking to some lady.

"Sorry I didn't know you had company." I told my dad apologizing for the way I barged in. I hugged him and he kissed my forehead. I spinned  around opening my fridge grabbing a water and mangos. "It's ok" I hear my dad's deep voice.

I put my mangos in a bowl adding chamoy in with it. "You've grown up so much since the last time I've seen you" the lady says. "I'm sorry" I tell her in my calm voice masking the major confusion I have. She is now standing infront of me" jay sadly this is your mother" my dad blurted out.

"What?" she steps closer one hand in mine the other on my cheek. "I am your mother" I shake my head snatching my hands away from hers. " you can't be, a mother doesn't abandon her child" I tell her. Her face goes from shocked to angry. She winds her hand back and just before it connects with my cheek her wrist is grabbed.

"Brittany you need to leave, barging in here and you have the nerve to try and hit my daughter." My dad's voice boomed with disbelief. "She was being disrespectful that's why nobody wants her" violent tears start to spill out of my eyes.I got up and ran out the house.

I knocked on the door "you can't stay awa-" he was cut off by me crying loudly. "Why doesn't she want me?" I asked lying in bronny's arms. "She's too ignorant to see she's the one missing out" he told me. He was combing his fingers through my hair making me fall asleep.

I woke up 2 hours later and decided to go home knowing my dad is worried. There was only one light on in the house so I knew my dad was up. He was sitting in his chair with his head in his hands. I walked over to home and brought him into a hug.

"I'm sorry dad" he looked up at me"I'm sorry I'm the reason y'all aren't together anymore" I said breaking down in his arms." Don't say that your the best thing that's happened to me" he said. After a while I decided to go to sleep.
•• 2 weeks later••

Today is my birthday. I decided I wanted a pool party. The party didn't start till later so I had time to hang out with my friends. I'm grabbing my airforces to complete my outfit and when I walk out of my closet my dad's pops out with balloons.

"Surprise" he yells, I laugh at his excitement. He hands me 4 bags all filled with jewelry and clothes. "Thank you so much" I tell him. "One more thing" he pulled out a credit card with my name engraved on it. I squealed jumping up and down.
I called bronny to come to the mall with me. We went to footlocker, bodyshop, and kay jewellers. I decided that I would secretly buy all my friends and family gifts. We got tired and went back to my house.

I was getting dressed because my party was about to start. I guess I didn't hear my door open because when I walked out bronny was laying on my bed." Oh my you scared me" my hand flew over my heart. He chuckled as I threw my towel at him.

The party was starting and all the guests were singing happy birthday to me as I walked onto the balcony with my dad. "Jay you have been the best thing that has happened to me. It's been great watching you grow to be the young lady you are." He says he has one more gift for me.

My eyes are covered ad I'm being led to my gift. We came to a stop and my eyes were uncovered. I saw this.

He handed me the keys and I got in. Everything was accessorized with fur. It was getting really dark so we came inside so I could get the rest of my gifts. Brandon gave me a giftcard to fashion nova. Bronny got me a pandora bracelet.

After a while the grown ups went out to give us privacy. The doorbell rang and we snap our heads toward it. I paused the movie and went to open it. There was nothing there so I was going to close it until I heard "wow I came all the way across the country and you close the door on me."

I recognized that voice then I saw her. I jumped on Maya and she squealed. I noticed someone else in the doorway and it was Maya's cousin Jenny. Let's just say we hated each other, everything I worked for she tried to take away.

The rest of the night consisted of me and Maya catching up and Jenny throwing shots at me. I wasn't gonna let her get to me.
