They were having a pleasant time until Will's parents asked them when they'd be having children. Abby told them that they weren't ready for kids just yet and wanted to make sure that they had proper jobs and a home before having children, but his parents were persistent. They said that they would help with the child and support them if they needed it, but that's not the way Abby wanted to do it. She wanted to be able to support their own child. Abby and William left right after dinner, since Abby didn't feel comfortable in the situation. But at home Abby blew up at William. She was furious at him for not helping her convince his family about not having children just yet. He got angry at her too, saying things like maybe we should start considering it, and asking her why she was getting mad at his parents for asking a questions and giving them reasonable offers.

This became another big fight of theirs. William thought that she was disrespecting his parents in a way and Abby was frustrated that Will wasn't understanding why she thought it was unreasonable to be supported by his parents. They didn't talk to each other and left for work right away and came back from work really late, so they wouldn't have to interact with each other. Their fight went on for another week and they once again realized that something must be done to try to fix this. They did the same thing as before. They picked one day where they both stayed home and discussed their issues. Abby brought up how she felt about him not understanding why she didn't want his parents to help support their child. Her thought process was that they had already raised Will and paid for everything for him, and they had helped pay for the wedding and she felt it was her turn to raise a child and support the child like both her parents and his parents had done.

As Abby was saying this William was beginning to realize that he felt the same way. It would be his child and not his parents, he wanted to be able to give his child everything they wanted. He wanted to do everything for his child, and even though it was his parents that were saying that they wanted to, he still wanted to be the one to support his child. He realized now why Abby was saying to wait until they were financially stable to have children.

Abby was glad that he was understanding and that they were on the same page about the children situation but she was curious on William's opinion on this. So William told her that he thought that she was disrespecting his parents by saying that she didn't want children without even considering the options they had presented, but he said that he now understood why she said that. However, hearing this crushed Abby because she would never want to disrespect them and loved them as if they were her own parents. This made William feel bad for ever thinking that she was disrespecting his parents and he realized that if his wife says something then she probably has a reason for it and he should listen to her.

After everything was said and all their feelings were in the open, they both felt much better. They decided that if his or her parents asked about kids in the near future, they would tell them they're waiting until they were financially stable to have children. After a week of fighting they finally made up and came up with a solution. That night they decided they would cook dinner together and spend so well needed time together. Abby had also brought up the topic of how they should probably start looking for new jobs since it didn't seem like they were going to get a raise anytime soon. After a couple months of searching they were both able to find better paying jobs. Now they were both making enough money to pay all their bills and have plenty of money to spare. William suggested that it would probably be best for them to save a portion of it for the future, whether that be for a child, or maybe buying a house.
