The Wrong Type of People

   Kaminari POV

I wasn't raised in a normal home like all the other kids. I mean, I wish I did. But, I wasn't.
I live in a world where 80% of the worlds population contain some type of super power called a quirk. I was one of those 80%. My name is Denki Kaminari. Currently a student here at the most prestigious hero academy in Japan. UA High.
A lot of people think that my childhood was so normal cause I'm so outgoing and extroversive. And, like I said before, I wasn't.
Here, there are two types of people:

Heroes: Heroes (ヒーロー, Hīrō?) are individuals who use their Quirks to protect civilians from villains, natural disasters, or any other kind of harm. Those who take heroism as a profession are referred to as Pro Heroes (プロヒーロー, Puro Hīrō?). Source:WikiFandom

Villains: Villains (敵ヴィラン, Viran?, lit. "Opponent") are people who use their Quirks to commit crimes, cause destruction, and potentially put innocent lives at stake.

My parents fall into the second category. They're both villains. And just like all villains, they hated heroes. With a passion. They always saw them as selfish posers who are only in it to make themselves look good. Completely disregarding the fact that there are people who are consistently suffering everyday. But they wouldn't notice cause they're too busy soaking up the spotlight. And guess who had to grow up in that type of environment?
I used to live in Saitama, Japan. But, not the good side of it. The run down side. That's where most of our violence occurred. Our drug dealers, thieves, killers, you name it.
We never spoke about heroes in my household. It was pretty much forbidden. I remember my mother always telling me, "No son of mine will be turning into one of those toxic, selfish posers. They drove us to this filth. They don't even care. All they care about are themselves with their flashy capes and bullshit like that!"
"B-But...w-what about All Might momma?"
"HA! All Might?! The Symbol of Peace himself? The most glorified hero in the entire world? Ha! Yeah right. As if that Dunce Face would ever give us a chance."
I guess you could say that my mother was one of my biggest influences. She had always said how heroes were the ones to blame for our current condition.
I honestly don't remember how old I was when this had happened cause it was so long ago, but, one day. I was home alone watching the TV when this ad popped up onto the screen. And, this man slid onto the screen. With a smile on his face. Laughing. Something about his presence was just so calming and nice. It felt like my soul had been healed just by looking at him. He kept on talking about how anyone could become a hero. No matter who they were, or where they came from. They could all be heroes. In this house, the names of heroes of any sort will not be allowed. I forbid my son to grow up toxic and selfish.
Before I go, I almost forgot to tell you guys something. My family is associated with a villains group called the League of Villains. They're the only ones who cared for us. Gave us a home when those 'Heroes' couldn't. And now, my parents believe that it's my turn to repay their debt.
