"So you're my roommate?" the girl with the Spanish accent asked.
"Jemima Vienna Jean Williams, at your service," saluted Jemima.
"That's sure a mouthful there, Kara with a K," laughed a golden haired girl in a patterned, dark red, cropped halter top, denim cut off shorts and black high tops.
"Harmony?"
"Oh god, don't mention that name ever again in my presence. It's Alexis Rose Watson now."
"Ohh, but Harmony was such a sweet name." Alexis growled in return.
"Haha, this chic seems like my kinda person. Alaska Green at your service," saluted the girl with tattoos.
"Fan of John Green?"
"What gave it away?" Alaska smiled.
Jemima surveyed her new room. Boxes lay on her bed, sometimes stacked three deep, and the floor had towers nearly as tall as her. The adjustments that she'd asked for the room had happened, and, once the boxes were gone, the room would no doubt look quite nice. Her roommates side of the room, was very neat and had a white and blue theme with dashes of pink here and there. Jemima looked to her roommate. Tallish, with long black hair in two loose plaits, brilliant blue eyes, and a Spanish looking tan, her roommate was wearing a leather jacket over a white singlet that had 'bite me' written in cursive across the front, black skinny jeans, and vibrant dark blue high heeled pumps.
"So you're my roomie?" Jemima asked, awaiting for some sort of introduction.
"Right, yes, I'm Cara Wright. Cara with a C, that is. It's a pleasure to meet you." Cara stood up, and held a hand out.
"Pleasures all mine, Cara." Jemima ignored the hand and pulled her into a hug. "So, who wants to help me unpack?" Everyone groaned. "I have presents?!" Everyone immediately jumped to attention. Jemima smiled at their reactions. From some instinct she knew what was in each of the boxes. She had about 17 boxes of clothes, five with shoes, and another five more with a bunch of accessories. Then she had two boxes of linen, ten boxes of books, three of school books and stationary, and three more boxes full of technology items. Then there was quite a few oddly shaped boxes that held more furniture and plants.
She got Cara, the neat one, to handle putting clothes away. Alaska was organising plants and the furniture, as most the furniture was going to be going out on the balcony, and with her smoking that was where she'd be hanging the most quite possibly. Then she and Alexis did the rest, including the linen, and the desk items, herself organising all the books onto the bookshelf. When Alexis finished helping her, she was to go and helped out Cara in the wardrobe. Finally, when they were done, two hours later, they slumped onto the beds, Alexis just lying on the floor. Then Alexis sat up.
"Those two boxes," she said as she pointed to two boxes she'd seen lying under Jemima's bed. "They haven't been unpacked yet."
"Ahh, looks like you've found the presents." Quickly she leant over the bed and grabbed the two boxes before hauling them up onto the bed. She opened the first one, and pulled out four of the latest style MacBooks. "One each." The girls eyes lit up. Jemima smiled. "I had a small feeling that people would forget the small things that everyone lives on." She handed one to each girl. "I've got some covers and stickers in here, but we can go over them later." Then she grabbed the other box and opened it up. "I hope I can trust you girls. What I'm about to show doesn't leave this room. I don't feel like getting robbed." The other three nodded at her solemnly. She then pulled out fifteen iPhones, three each of the five latest styles. "I didn't know who, what, want, whatever, so I just took a stab. Which ones do you want?" Cara, Alexis and Alaska looked at her in disbelief. She just shrugged at them, a slight smile playing at her lips. Quick as an asp, Alexis leaned over and grabbed an iPhone 8 Plus in gold. Then she just sat there, staring and cradling it.
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe I'm holding this!" Whispered Alaska. Jemima laughed.
"Cara? Alaska?" Slowly Alaska unwound herself and walked over. She studied them carefully before gently picking up the iPhone 7 in rose gold. "What one do you want Cara?" Jemima asked.
"I-I couldn't." Jemima rolled her eyes at Cara. She picked up the silver iPhone 8. She then pretended to throw it across to Cara. Cara's eyes flared wide in alarm. Jemima just smiled slightly again and handed it Alaska to take it over to Cara.
"Look after them now, will ya?" She quickly packed the rest of the phones into the box again, and closed both boxes back up. Little did they know, she had six more Macs in the box, and keys for the safes she had added underneath her bed. "Yo what time is it, and when's dinner again?"
Cara glanced at her watch. "It's about four o'clock. Dinner is six. I-" A loud knock at the door interrupted Cara, before it swung open with a bang. A tan skinned beauty with long brown and blonde ombré hair, swinging hooped earrings, and wearing a tight, revealing, black dress stormed into the room. She pointed a finger at Alexis.
"You little b-"
"Hey!" Jemima jumped up, and stalked over to the newcomer. "You knock and then await to be invited in." The girl just rolled her eyes, scoffing.
"Whatever. Alexia, or whatever your stupid name is, come and clean up your godsdamn room, before I burn everything."
"It's Alexis bitch, and I'm the one who plays with fire. Plus you wouldn't burn anything but yourself," Alexis scoffed.
"Now, listen here you," the girl started.
"Nah, sweetie, you listen to me," said Jemima, getting back in her face. She was quite a few inches smaller than the other girl, clearly Alexis' roommate, but she still managed to look down her nose at her. "Get out of our room."
"What?!"
"I don't usually say things twice, but seeing as you seem to have trouble comprehending things, I'll say it a second time, just this once. Get. The. Hell. Out. Of. Our. Room!" The girl turned on heel, stalking out, but not before sending one last glare towards Alexis.
"I'm guessing that was Faith?" Cara laughed.
Alexis looked sheepishly at them all. "Heh, yeh. Sorry about that, thanks though Jemima."
"No problem amigo." Jemima said with a smile.
"Well, I best be off, before she comes back, no matter your threats Jem."
"I don't make threats. Only promises. Cya at dinner Lexi." Alexis smiled at them all before striding out of the room.
"I better go finish unpacking myself, before my roomie comes here too," said Alaska. "I couldn't be bothered before. Guess I better just get it over and done with." Then she leaves too, so then it was just Cara and Jemima. Jemima looks at her roommate. Cara rolls over and lies straight down the bed. She turns her head and give her a small smile
