-Cat above is Archstar.-
The humid air managed to weave itself throughout the tight bramble branches of the dens, some of the cats panting in attempt to cool themselves down. A small tabby kit slipped through the nursery's exit, his eyes lit up, as he began to bound towards the medicine den. He had a mischieveous expression on his face as he slipped into the bramble-and-bracken den, lightly sniffing the ground. He managed to scent the odor of herbs, which had been unknown to him, as he tracked towards them. A fern frond had been resting on the ground and it has been settled above a small ditch in the dirt, which is where some of the herbs had been. The tabby kit let out a soft and tiny sqeak as he shuffled the fern away. Blue berries hooked onto a stick had been resting in the dirt until the kit dragged them out. He then wolfed down a few of the berries, but then he backed into a figure of fur. It had been the Shadowclan medicine cat.
"Archkit!" he hissed. "What in Starclan's name are you doing?" Jayshadow's fur running along his spine had been bristled up as he scolded the tabby kit.
The tabby kit bared his little needle-like teeth, letting a small growl out at the medicine cat. Apparently, Brackenpaw had overheard the howling of Jayshadow, as she came barging into the den.
"Jayshadow, are you-" She cut her own phrase off. The tortoiseshell she-cat then glanced down at the kit, who continued to bare his teeth at the medicine cat. Her fur bristled. "Archkit, Jayshadow is going to bend back you whiskers if you don't stop stealing the herbs," Brackenpaw murmured as she lifted up the kit. She'd make her way from the den as Archkit wriggled in her jaws, and she had been pelting off to Pinefeather, who had been sharing tongues with another queen; Nightshadow. Once she reached the queen, she plopped Archkit to the ground, who decided to let out a small snivel. "He got into the medicine supplies again, Pinefeather."
"Thank you, Brackenpaw," the queen mewed in appreciation. As Brackenpaw trotted away, Pinefeather shot a piercingly sharp glare at Archkit. "Quit getting into the medicine supplies before Jayshadow tears your tail to shreds. No coming out of the nursery for a quarter moon." In the distance, both the queen and her kit noticed Hopekit and Sparrowkit playfighting in the clearing.
"But why won't you punish them like you just did to me!" Archkit protested, his long tail lashing vigorously. His diluted pupils formed into the shape of sharp bramble thorns.
"Because they're not being a menace like you," Jayshadow called from the front of the medicine den with a stern and snarky tone. The gray tom rolled his eyes as Archkit glared at him.
"Now, Archkit, off you go to the nest." The queen began to nudge her kit to the bramble den behind her, ignoring the tabby's whines. "Quit whining, Archkit. If you hadn't gotten into the medicine supplies, then you would be able to play with the other kits."
"I don't want to play with the other kits! I want to fight like a warrior!" he howled as he was shoved into the bracken and moss of his nest. "The other kits are more boring than plucking heathers from their roots!"
"Watch your tone, young one, Pinefeather is capable of giving you another punishement that's worse than the one you have now," Cloudsky, another queen, commented. "Don't heat up her temper." The queen's kits scrabbled all over Cloudsky, squeaking in amusement.
"Archkit, you must stay here. But, I will allow you to mess around with Cloudsky's kits while you're in here. I'll only allow you to come out of the nest if you need something important, like food or water, or if it's a emergency," Pinefeather croaked. "Behave yourself, alright?" The pale brown she-cat then tugged herself out of the bramble.
Vixenkit, one of Cloudsky's kits, came bounding over with a moss ball in her jaws. "Archkit! Do you want to play moss ball with me and Foxkit?" she squeaked, bounding in a small circle. She noticed Archkit taking a few moments to think about his decision.
"Sure, actually. I have nothing else to do," Archkit shrugged, his eyes lighting up. He hadn't wanted to show any amusement or contentment, but it was there and existing. "Let's play at the back of the den where it's empty!"
The three kits, Archkit, Foxkit, and Vixenkit, raced to the back of the nursery, as Foxkit had almost stumbled over his own paws. Vixenkit would begin the serve, as she leapt up and batted the moss ball towards her brother, Foxkit. SIlverkit, one of Nightshadow's kits, came bounding into the nursery. Her eyes lit up as she saw the other kits playing with the moss ball in the back of the nursery.
"Can I play too? Please?" the pale gray she-cat begged to the other kits. "Wolfkit won't pay attention to me so I can't play with him!"
The ginger tom, Foxkit, turned his head to Silverkit. "Of course you could play! The more cats the better!" he squealed, bounding over to the gray she-cat. He nuzzled her in a greeting. "Come on!" He'd lunge back over to his sister and Archkit, Silverkit following close behind.
Cloudsky would shuffle herself up to a seating position as she gazed at the kits playing with the moss ball. Soon, though, she'd slip through the bramble hole of the nursery. The kits continued their game. The kits had made sure the moss ball had barely hit the ground multiple times, as that also goes to Silverkit, as this was her first time playing the game.
"I got it!" Vixenkit leapt to the side to hit the moss ball, as she had done so, but her head plummeted onto a sharp stone. Her mind went unconscious, her body going limp, and her whiskers and tail quit twitching.
Foxkit's eyes widened in a panic. "V-Vixenkit..?" he stammered, taking gentle paw-steps over to the limp body of his ginger sister. "Vixenkit! Wake up!" he cried, shaking the she-cat with his paws. He'd flip her over to her flank, to notice blood pouring from her head. "Cloudsky! Cloudsky!" he wailed. Soon enough, the queen rushed into the den. Her jaw dropped as she noticed the limp body of her kit, sorrow gleaming in her eyes. She rushed over with a twitching tail tip.
"Vixenkit! Wake up, please!" the white-and-silver she-cat howled. "Someone get Jayshadow!" As soon as the queen had croaked out her message, the three kits had slipped out of the den and rushed over to Jayshadow's den.
"Archkit! What are you doing out of the nursery?" Pinefeather demanded as she noticed her son bailing out of the bramble.
"Vixenkit is hurt!" he cried as he rushed close behind the other two kits. His heart raced as blood roared in his ears from fear. Please, StarClan, please just give Vixenkit another chance! Just please, she doesn't deserve to die at a moon old! Please, I'm begging you!
