Just a reminder, i wrote this back when i was 11- (2019) its a bit cringe
—————————-

It was very chilly this morning for some reason. Luckily, you were wearing your sweater. You're walking to school because your bicycle is getting fixed from the accident from last month.

Even though your house wasn't too far from your school,  Shiratorizawa Academy, you are known to be very lazy. Your 10 minutes walk to school felt like a 30 minutes walk to you.

"Gah!" You screamed a little when you bumped into someone on their back. You looked up, and you saw your best friend, Ushijima.

"Ushiwaka! what're you doing here this early?" You wondered, since he usually don't show up at this hour.

"Volleyball" he replied, looking away and sounding cold. But you didn't mind. You had known him for a very long time and is already used to his short replies.

"Oh. Well, since we are going to the same direction, why not we walk together?" You offered while smiling.

"Yeah, sure." He replied dryly.

-7:20 a.m.-

"I'm going to class, bye!" You waved your hand to Ushijima. He's going to the gym and you're heading to your class. You walk to your class, in excitement. It has been exactly 2 days and 23 hours since you last seen your (second) favorite person in the world. It was Hairi, your bestie. (Ri for short)

"Ri-chan~!" You opened your hands widely when you saw Hairi in the hallway.

As soon as she saw you, a wide smile appeared on her face. "(nickname)-chan~~!!" She ran towards you with her arms wide open.

She hugged you tightly like she haven't seen you in a thousand years. "Mornin', Rin-chan! I can't breathe." You wheeze.

"Hehe, morning~" she lets go, "sorry, (nickname)-chan! It felt like forever since I last saw you!" She holds your hand and rested her head on your shoulder. Both of you happily chatted while walking towards your classroom together.

-recess-
"GaSp!" Hairi said, while holding your right arm. "He did it again?!" She yelled in anger.

You had an older brother- well, step-brother. He had always hated you. You would get much more attention from your step-mother and your father. He would always do bad things to you whenever he had a chance (not something dirty btw). There will be new bruises or wounds on your body, and Hairi will always spot it first.

You covered your wound with your sleeve. "It's fine, Ri-chan, I'm okay." You create a genuine smile. Not wanting her to be worried. "That dickhead." Hairi muttered.

"Let me see your wound." said Hairi. She is the daughter of the most professional doctor in Miyagi, so any kinds of wounds on my body would be inspected by her. Though this time, you had the urge to refuse.

"It's fin-" you got cut off by a familiar voice.

"What wound?" You turned around to see the one and only, Ushijima. At this moment, you and Hairi knew that you're screwed. You never told Ushijima about your 'abusive' brother because you hated others worrying for you, thinking that you'd be a burden.

"U-um," you stuttered, thinking of a logical excuse. "T-the wound I got from falling of my bicycle yesterday!" You looked away while sweating.

"And I thought your bicycle is broken?" He asked.

'Shit.' You panicked.

"She fell off the public bicycle she used yesterday, Ushijima-kun." Hairi quickly answered. (Nice save, Hairi)

"Is that so... Let me see the wound, (y/n)" Ushijima replies, gently holding your right arm. You pull up your sleeve and his eyes widened.

"This is not a wound from falling off a bicycle,
(y/n)" he said. Judging by his tone of voice , you knew he was serious. He wanted to know the truth and you doesn't want to tell him.

You sighed. You knew you couldn't keep the secret any longer. But after years and years of knowing Ushijima, you knew his pain.

You would always complain about small things to him, and kind of forced him to settle it. You told him about your problems, but he would never tell you about his. At the moment you realised this, you would always called yourself an asshole and many more bad things. You were not a great friend to him. But he stayed with you.

You doesn't want to tell him your problems anymore ever since he got the position of the ace. Of course he would be busy and you thought it'll be more of a burden to him if you continue talking about the littlest things to him.

But it was only you. You never knew him really well you guessed.

"Well.."
