As the Witcher was taking a bath the bard carelessly wandered around. Whistling 'toss a coin' to himself Dandelion glanced at the mirror admiring how fine he looks wearing his new bright fancy costume. Geralt wanted to give him a silent death glare implying that the bard should fucking leave but instead, his eyes caught Jaskier's fine ass. It really stood out in his new costume, with blue and purple stripes running flawlessly down his sweetly curved butt. The witcher couldn't take his eyes off it.
"Hey! Were you looking at my butt?" exclaimed Dandelion with facetious annoyance. Geralt groaned in response.
"Fuck off bard" He felt embarrassed for once in his life. The witcher reached his arm out to get the bucket with hot water but instead of a wooden jug, his arm felt something soft. The Witcher turned his head just to see Dandelion crouching down leaning slightly on the edges of the bath as both of his elbows were spread across the edge, resting his chin in the middle of his hands.
Geralt found himself muffling Jaskier's hair with his large and wounded hands. To a lone white wolf, a fighter that singlehandedly fights the beasts, feeling something that soft felt ecstatic and unusual.
Dandelion didn't mind at all. Being a bard who was lacking a simple warmth and kindness from people just because 'he cannot sing' ... quite enjoyed his close friend ruffling his messy dark brown hair. For a moment Dandelion closed his eyes and smiled gently at the serenity of the moment. Suddenly he felt like a child again being nurtured by his mother made him completely dissolve in the warmth of the moment.
Silence filled the room when all of a sudden Jaskier felt embarrassed. Redness covered his face, nose and cheeks and even his ears. He felt vulnerable and awkward: "So" he made the vowel ring longer in the air as if trying to come up with something to say "I believe we were heading on the journey right Geralt? Right, of course, I'm right! Jaskier is always right" he paused as he stood up and rubbed his hands together rather nervously. "Well, when are we heading out?"
Geralt calmly observed Jaskier's nervous nature and felt rather guilty for making him feel so uncomfortable. He swore to himself never to do anything like that ever again. "We'll leave at dusk'
"Yeah. Cool. Sure" Dandelion felt satisfied for a second but then he exclaimed, "at dusk, Geralt? But it's going to be dark! Dark as hell and full of monsters and diabolic creatures! Demons and and..." he stuttered.
Geralt groaned repeating himself again: "we'll leave at dusk"
Dandelion looked as if he wanted to say something but couldn't utter a single word. He stormed out of the bath building shutting the wooden door behind him with a remarkably loud slam.
"Like a child" muttered Geralt to himself before pouring hot water on his greasy dark blond almost grey hair. 'What the hell did I just do...' he thought to himself. At this point, he felt an aching and burning heat in his chest. No monster that he defeated, no woman that he slept with made him feel that way before. The unusually slow heartbeat started to race, beating in his throat and in his head. There was no doubt about it... the famous witcher has desperately fallen in lo...
Geralt splashed the water on to his face as if trying to wash away that uncomfortable feeling off himself. 'I must be sick' he muttered to himself as he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his toned and muscular body. Dizziness hitting him in the head but as a strong fighter, he manages to walk all by himself towards the hotel room he stayed at.
All the while trying his best not to think about his comical companion that was nowhere to be seen, Geralt spent a good while sitting on his bed planning on what the journey with Dandelion will be like later on. Through the dirty glass of the window, his wolf-like eyes watched the rosy sun ready to set down signifying that Geralt should depart soon. The turmoil of emotions taking over him as he felt responsible for making Dandelion storm off like that and probably making him feel uncomfortable.
As it was dark outside, the witcher headed out towards the stables to get the Roach who waited patiently for her owner.
As if in a dream the witcher placed the bags on the horse when with his sharp hearing he heard familiar footsteps approaching.
"Well if you ask me," the voice called from the outside the stables "it would've been much easier to set out in the morning!"
With Roach following behind Geralt appeared before Dandelion casually leaning against the wall. He didn't seem flustered or any different than usual, with the same idiotic smirk on his coral lips and glowing blue eyes with a mischievous spark.
"Dandelion..."
"All right, all right Mr. 'I know it better'. Lead the way will ya"
They set out into the night. Usually, Geralt would ride on the horse while Jaskier had a hard time trying to catch up with him running after him... now he only leads Roach and walks beside his friend. The stars smiling down upon the two as they left the welcoming village behind heading for the valley in complete silence.
Well, the silence didn't last long until a bard started muttering something that resembled a song but his voice was too shaky...
"Jaskier" Geralt groaned looking at the bard subconsciously getting closer towards Geralt as he heard a branch snap somewhere in the woods. "What's wrong?"
Dandelion did not hesitate to admit to his fears, yet he didn't want to be seen as a coward either, so he said: "Everyone knows Jaskier is the bravest of the Bards, the noblest and worthy! But the darkness is the only beast that is able to catch him off guard!"
The witcher stopped and looked back at his friend, eyes glowing in the darkness.
"You are scared of the dark?"
"J-just a little bit!"
Geralt's gaze softened as he sighed. "Fine." He turned back to where they came from, back to the village, gladly they didn't walk too far away.
"Wait Geralt! Why are you heading backwards? What about the job...!" the bard exclaimed in frustration.
"It can wait" simply replied the witcher, then added "Sorry I didn't listen to you from the start"
Seeing Geralt like this filled the heart of the bard with joy. He felt tears forming at the corners of his eyes under the soft gaze of the burning yellow orbs... He could not deny the fact that he loved him after everything they've been through this is when Jaskier realised it, whipping the tears away with the sleeve of his new costume.
"There now" softly groaned the witcher finding the courage to hug Dandelion who buried his face into Geralt's shoulder feeling muscular arms wrap around him and holding him gently.
They stood like that for a while, Roach eating the grass. "Geralt I need to tell you something"
"Hm?"
"I think I love you..."
The slow heartbeat starts beating faster again as Geralt smiled looking up to the stars, still holding the bard in his embrace.
"You make me feel ill" states Geralt after a long pause
"What"
"Every time you're around. This feeling in my chest starts to ache and I get a fever..." explained Geralt.
Dandelion could not help but laugh at this explanation, what else could he expect from a Witcher. Jaskier lifted his head up and smiled before raising on his tiptoes giving Geralt a soft kiss on the lips...
"It is called love"
"Oh"
