"A-haar, me hearties! Isn't it great being pirates?" I tried not to roll my eyes at Dude's pirate voice.
"Let's talk about all the rotten stuff we're going to do while we pretend to be pirates." Misty sighed. She hardly seemed surprised by all the crazy things we did anymore.
"Rotten stuff?" Dude seemed confused.
"Yeah, like attacking other ships and throwing crewmembers overboard." She replied as if it was obvious.
"Don't forget the sword fights!" I smirked, raising my weapon once again. Misty immediately held her sword in front of her.
"Well, I wish Rainbow was here. I miss him." Candi spoke up.
"He must have better things to do." Dude told her.
"Yeah, probably stuffing his face. You know what a greedyguts he is."
"That is so not nice, Misty."
"Actually, Mimi, on this occasion Misty is right." Dude said. "Rainbow did try to eat my map."
"Your bap? What kind of bap?"
"I said map, Sprout."
"A map? Are you going somewhere? Have you not heard of a SatNav?" Bud asked.
"This is a very old map. It belonged to my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandad."
"Don't tell me... he was great."
"Actually Pip, he was the infamous pirate captain Lefteye."
"I didn't know you had pirate's blood." My mind was whirling as I spoke the word. Maybe I'd just been watching too much Pirates of the Carribean lately.
"Why was he called captain Lefteye?" Candi asked.
"Because he only had one eye left!"
"You're close, Sprout. After losing his right hand in battle, he was testing out his new hook. He looked up at the beautiful sky... and a seagull pooped in his eye."
"Rubbish!" Misty wasn't impressed. "You can't lose your eye from seagull poop."
"You can if you accidentally use your hook to wipe it out." Dude then pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket. "And this is the treasure map that will show us to treasure island!"
Everyone except me crowed around Dude, Misty trying to grab the map from him.
"Careful, guys. It's very old and delicate, and I will not be happy if it gets torn."
"Why do we want to go to treasure island, anyway?" Pip asked.
"It's literally called Treasure Island."
"So?"
"So, Misty, there must be treasure there, right?"
"And then we'll be rich beyond our wildest dreams!" Mimi announced.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Misty's eyes sparkled in a way that only meant she had something up her sleeve. "Then I'll buy a truck to take the rest of the gang away, and the Skyline will be mine!"
"We're standing right here." I muttered to her, "We can hear every word you're saying."
"I guess I got a bit carried away... Sorry."
"Maybe that's why Rainbow was so interested in the map. Perhaps he wanted to dig for the treasure himself." Pip suggested.
"But Rainbow likes digging for bones, not treasure." Mimi pointed out.
"I just love adventures!" Sprout said. "And this one's gonna be great, just like Dude's grandad."
