Clary POV
"Are you ready child?""As ready as I'm ever going to get, what about you Jace?"
He smiles that cocky grin I love, "born ready."
"Wayland do be careful, you aren't exactly equipped to take on an Angel let alone Raziel with the power of us all combined. No ordinary Shadowhunter would be capable."
"I haven't been ordinary a day in my life."
Ithuriel smiles, " that may be true but Wayland my warning remains. Try not to get yourself killed? You're valuable..."
At this Jace smiles, " I'm the best you can say it, with the exception of Clary that is."
"I will not feed your ego," he sighs and grabs Jace's wrist, " hers is forever, yours is for now. These wings will disappear once the battle is won. I'm only doing this because I fear that beautiful ego will get you killed. Now my warriors of heaven go forth and save us. Save us all."
Before I step through I feel a tug at my hand, " give that bastard hell little sister, show him what Fairchilds are made of. I might not deserve the name but you do."
"Johnathan, the real you is more than worthy of the Fairchild name, our mother would be so proud of you and our father would be rolling in his grave."
"I love you Clary, just don't die, I need you to live."
I wrap my arms around him, " I will." I kiss his cheek and then walk towards the swirling purple knowing I might not win this, knowing I might not make it through, that I might falter, I hold my chin up high anyway.
Heroes aren't always the ones who win, they're the ones who lose sometimes, I lost when my memories we're taken, when I was possessed, Jace lost himself to Lilith, we all have failures but we have triumphs as well. We have all been beaten but we get up, bloodied and bruised we keep fighting, our failures only fuel our passion, our tragedy only strengthens our purpose and that's what makes us heroes, that's why I'm going to win.
Jace takes my hand and we step through. The warmth of his fingers settles my nerves, his confidence in me is infectious.
We're dropped on hard pavement.
I look at my surroundings and a chill runs through my bones as I realize this is where I killed my brother.I grit my teeth, " a flair for the dramatic Raziel? If you're trying to psyche me out, you'll have to try a lot harder than that."
He appears before me as if he were made of air, "I don't have to try Fairchild. You think you could possibly beat me? With what exactly? Your memories won't help you here." Jace steps up beside me gripping my hand harder.
"He's afraid of you Clary but we, " he says squeezing my hand, " aren't afraid of him."
Raziel smirks, the cruelness in his eyes gleaming off the sunlight, "Oh you brought your boyfriend, I'm shaking in my feathers, tell me, son, how did you fair without your precious little artist by your side? It was quite pathetic to watch so hear me when I say you are no threat to me."
"Watch her as she wipes the smirk off your damn face."
As if on cue Raziel strikes first sending his black lightning straight for me and Jace, it splits in two heading straight for our hearts but at the last second Jace and I jump into the air dodging the attack with a backflip by the time we land softly on our feet both of our wings have accended.
"That's so cute how in sync you two are, such a pity Jace, you would have made an excellent Ally. You could have been my pet of destruction."
"I would have never joined you." Jace spits. He throws his hand out shooting a gold light out of his hand nearly hitting it's mark but Raziel bats it away using a shield that seems to have appeared out of nowhere. He tries again and again to no avail. As he bats Jace's attempts away I come in from the side with my blue lightning, it doesn't hit Raziel directly but his shield melts into blue ash.
Every Angel's grace is different on the inside, a reflection of your soul, it's no wonder Raziel's is black as night and Jace a polar opposite with his blinding gold almost like the sun and suddenly an idea begins to take form.
We will never win as we are now, Jace and I are merely playing Cat and mouse. Raziel is toying with us, tiring us out. He looks bored, the cat playing with his toys before finishing them off. I might not be able to beat him with strength but that cockiness will be his downfall. I can outsmart him.
With one last shot at Raziel, I take Jace's hand and shoot up into the air. Within seconds we are thousands of feet into the air. "Clary?"
I shake my head knowing Raziel won't be too far behind us. I tap my finger on my forehead. Jace nods in understanding. One of my powers includes talking to other angels in my mind now that Jace has the same rune and a set of wings I'm praying it works. However, I have to block Raziel out if he hears my plans they will be as dead as Jace and I will be.
I focus on building a wall, Raziel on one side while Jace and I are on the other just as Iruthiel taught me. Jace?
I'm here baby. What's your idea? I can see those wheels turning.
I do have an idea but it's kind of crazy and I don't know if it will work.
Just tell me what I need to do. I have nothing but faith in you Clary.
His voice is like a whisper behind my eyelids, it feels warm and beautiful. He believes in me so much and I just hope I can deliver. My idea is unorthodox but when are any of my decisions ever anything else?
I close my eyes as I get ready to unveil my plan. Here's go hopping crazy works.
Sorry guys this is shit but I wanted to post something. Love you guys. Please vote and comment. 😁♥️
