Chapter Three: He's gone

"Tikki spots off, " Marinette said realseing her transformation and running up to her children's bedroom, surely they couldn't have fallen asleep they always stayed up late and waited for her but she couldn't hear them at all, had something happened oh how she wished she could see right now to make sure, "Mommy! " Emma sobbed running into her mothers arms "Emma my darling what's wrong and wheres your brother? " Marinette asked in concern "A lady wearing purple broke the window and she took him away, I don't know why but she keep saying that she was our mommy and she grabbed Hugo... " Emma sobbed and Marinette felt her heart almost stop, this couldn't be true her son couldn't be gone. "Is he going to come back mommy I want him to come home? " Emma asked sadly "Daddy and I will find him, " Marinette said trying to stay strong for Emma but she was on the verge of sobbing herself. "Sweetie I need to talk with Daddy please try and get some sleep, " Marinette instructed and Emma obeyed

As Marinette walked back downstairs the only thing that was racing through her mind was 'how was she going to tell Adrien, ' what was she thinking leaving them both alone with only Kwamis, god she was a terrible mother. "Marinette? " Tikki asked in concern "oh Tikki I messed up so badly how could I made that mistake, Adrien might never speak to me again because of this, " Marinette said finally allowing herself to cry "he loves you Marinette and don't worry we'll get Hugo back. " Tikki said trying to cheer Marinette up, "Adrien.. I must speak with you.. " Marinette said trying her best not to choke on her words "I heard Emma crying upstairs is everything okay Marinette? " he asked at that moment Marinette could hold it anymore she flung herself into his arms crying and told him about what had happened, she couldn't see his face because she was blind but she felt him tense up and his grip on her tightened "what do you mean you he's not here, where's my son Marinette? " he asked sounding a bit angry "I don't know, Emma said he was taken by a lady in purple, " she sobbed "Hawkmoth? " Adrien asked choking up "maybe.. I don't know.. but someone has our baby Adrien... and its all my fault.. I should have stayed with them... I'm such a terrible mother! " "Marinette you're not a terrible mother and none of this is your fault, we we're set up but I promise you if I ever see Hawkmoth again I'm going to kill the bastard, no one messes with my family and gets away with it.
