Lights dimmed, applause rang out, and adrenaline pumped through every vein of every boy and girl. All joining hands, they bowed. The audience stood in a grand ovation, every pair of eyes set on the artists above, as if they were a painting, the canvas a beautiful stage. The main colors on the canvas, the red haired girl and the blue eyed boy, took a step forward. The crowd hooted and hollered, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.
Six a.m. The birds were chirping, the sun rising just over the horizon. The dogs needed to be let outside and Hallie was as restless as one could be, so she got up and decided to take Tuck and Sampson on a walk.
Dawn was approaching, her favorite time of the day. The silently eerie night was over, and the morning song began. The sun and the moon shared the same sky, day and night in harmony with each other. The atmosphere was peaceful, the scenery beautiful.
If only her thoughts were in line with the such beauty. Instead they were a dark cloud, utter chaos.
Walks usually cured her anxiety. She remembered how her dad used to wake her up early everyday before he went off to work, and took her outside to watch the sunrise. As a little kid, she thought it was the coolest thing. When she hit her teens, though, she loved the sleep more. Now, she wished she could go back in time and tell her younger self how foolish and selfish she had been. As her father said, ‘You can sleep when you’re dead, the day is for the living.’ And live we must.
