Thane walked through the overly crowded streets of  Vakerock. The hood covering her face from the rain, though, it wasn't doing a very good job. The water soaking the cloak started soaking the fabric of her clothes making them stick to her skin. Her boots kicked around rocks on the streets into puddles. Her belts laced with knives moved with her hips under that soaked cloak. Cold steel touched her skin whenever her arms moved.

The Freedom that came with this life was almost unalive. It had been almost 7 years since she'd woke up in some room with a bunch of strangers with wraps almost as thick as a sword on her chest. Thane had remembered nothing of the pain, nothing of what they did but Damien had told her what they did. And what kept her alive was her magic. Her magic had kept her heart beating after a sword was put through it and kept her stable until her body healed. When she healed completely the amount of magic that she had was unparalleled to anything.

Each time Thane entered Beldell borders it was a risk that she might not come out alive And that was thanks to the royal court. The king had banned all forms of magic almost 30 years go and a lot of people. Thane was lucky that she had her magic and even more glad that it was powerful enough to fight with it. People died every day thanks to the king's magic hunting forces if anyone was asked it was excessive.

She continued to walk through the soaked streets that were surprisingly busy even with the rain. Her feet stopped right at the outer gate to the palace, still, in the pouring rain the marble of the palace shined as if the sky was clear. Her eyes darted along the top of the wall the guards were posted six feet apart on each side and had roaming guards behind them. Three guards stood on each tower looking down with bows ready for fire if needed. More were posted at the gate checking wagons and carts that came through. Her eyes darted along all of the guards posting watching for the perfect time to dart through. It only took a short moment when all of them looked away for a split second. Her fingers moved just a tiny bit with red smoke lightly coming off of them.

Thane darted through the gate before the shut it. To the guards, she was only a small gust of wind which made them fight over who did it. She crouched in the shrubs and bushed as she made her way to the hole in the ground that leads to the tunnels in the palace. Once underground she followed the rats to the maids quarters and set a glamor over her body to disguise herself. To the normal eye, she looked like a lady's maid but to anyone with a trained eye, anyone could see her right through the illusion.

Her body moved around the traffic in the halls, weaved in and around guards, maids, and people of the court. She bowed if anyone of importance walked by but here everyone in the court didn't deserve to be here. They spent way too much money on luxuries that would take an average person almost a lifetime to receive. They caused death everywhere they went, always a trail of bodies and a trail of people ruined. Everything stopped when the prince came through the halls with his merry band of guards behind him. of course, she scowled at them but nobody saw it due to all the people looking at their shoes. She continued to walk towards her target when two of them looked over her shoulder and stopped.

Thane didn't dare look at them in the eye. One was her best friend giving her a questioning look but the one next to him made her blood boil. All she wanted to do was stab his cock and put his sword through his own chest in this hallway. There were too many people, the Prince, and Damien who knew how to take her own with just a few blows. her head turned in the direction her body moved and blended right in.

A few flights of stairs and knocking out some guards this part of the palace was basically uninhabited. Only few torches where light and the windows were covered with black curtains. The king didn't want anyone looking in or getting out of here. She pressed her back to the stone wall the cold making it's way to her skin. goosebumps now covered her body but soon faded as her cloak dropped to the ground. She walked up the spiral staircase that leads to the south tower and luckily faced the woods which made it an easy escape. Again her back was pressed to the wall looking over her shoulder to find that only one guard was posted at the door.

Thane pulled out her Small Ax blade out from her back and charged. The poor man only saw the hilt as it slammed into his head. he wasn't dead but would wake up with a killer headache and a concussion. She kicked the door open and just as she thought hadn't been opened in years. The shelves were covered in jars, locked boxes, books anything that the palace had in its archive. Her eyes went to the box with gold rose with A sword and shield going through the middle. Thane pulled the box down to wave her hand over it to open it. The lid sprang open and a cloud of dust came out, quickly she went through its contents and put most of it in a bag. She put the box back and locked it. She turned on her feet to leave through the tunnels but stopped when sounds of swords being pulled came up the stairwell.

" shit" her eyes darted around and landed on the window. her hands undid the latch and pushed it open.

" sire... Watch yourself"

Thane looked at the woods just beyond the wall linking a rope to the forest floor to her Ax in her hand. she put A leather mask on her face that covered the lower half. The material stuck like glue and smelled like ash. The scent filled her lungs making her heart race and lungs taking deep but quick breaths.

" stop where you stand thief!" her eyes quickly darted to the prince.

" Is that what they call me?"

" given where you currently stand, yes thats what they call you"

" because I can think of a list of names to call you"  she tapped her chin " the most offensive names"

" you Dare?!" her eyes looked to the man behind him. The face that hunted her for the past seven years. Her grip got tighter on the handle as her pale ice eyes trained on him, her eye's going gold from the sudden surge. Damien came through in front of them but looked at her and shook his head. instead, she backed up and fell backward making the link pulling on her blade bringing her to the forest.

" Damnit!" all of them rushed to the window to watch her disappear in the forest.

" I want search parties out and looking for her"

" of course sire. and How the hell was she able to do that?"

" Link?" Damien asked,

" whatever that was?" Prince Tobias said,

" I don't know but something tells me that she won't be hard to find.
